Star Wars: Galactic Racer does not currently advertise built-in local split-screen. Its official listings describe single-player and online multiplayer. On Steam PC, a fan-made mod called SWGRCouch adds a split-screen menu and targets up to four local players, but it is marked work in progress and its author reports testing with two and three. It is not an official game feature, and the listing does not establish support for PS5 or Xbox.
Does Star Wars: Galactic Racer have split-screen?
As of October 9, 2026, the official store listings reviewed do not advertise native local split-screen. Steam lists Single-player, Online PvP, and Cross-Platform Multiplayer. PlayStation describes up to 12 online players and one player; Xbox lists single-player and online multiplayer for 2–12. These are descriptions of the advertised modes, not a guarantee about every future patch or configuration.

The game launched worldwide on October 6, 2026, and is available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. You can play its officially listed multiplayer online, but the listings do not provide a built-in couch co-op route.
How to play local co-op with the SWGRCouch mod
SWGRCouch is a third-party UE4SS Lua mod for the Steam PC version. Its author says the game is not included and that a legitimately purchased Steam copy is required. The mod is unaffiliated with Lucasfilm, Disney, and the developers.

- Use the Steam PC edition. The listed mod requires a legitimate Steam copy; the listing does not document a console version.
- Follow the current Nexus Mods instructions to install and configure SWGRCouch. Installation details can change, and the available listing does not establish reliable file paths or UE4SS build numbers to reproduce here.
- Connect a separate gamepad for each local player. The mod listing says guests join on their own pad.
- Open the mod’s Split Screen tab and add players. Each guest then presses A on their own pad to join, as described on the mod page.

What the mod supports—and what remains uncertain
The mod targets up to four local players, but that is not the same as demonstrated four-player stability. Version 0.9.0 is identified as work in progress; its author reports testing with two and three players. The listing does not establish that four-player play has been tested reliably.

It is a community workaround rather than a supported game mode. The official platform listings do not show a corresponding console mod route, and the SWGRCouch listing requires Steam. Do not treat it as a method for PS5 or Xbox.

- With three or more players on a results screen, Player 1’s pad may not continue; the menu owner’s pad or keyboard and mouse may be needed.
- The listing reports that Player 1’s crash camera may freeze.
- It also notes a lobby input interaction while guests are joining.
These are issues reported by the mod author, not confirmed behavior in every setup. Because the project is work in progress, check the current listing for changes before installing or troubleshooting.
