There is no verified universal “best settings” preset for Star Wars: Galactic Racer. The official PlayStation listing confirms basic stick-sensitivity, inversion, and remapping options, plus the ability to disable vibration and adaptive-trigger effects. Use those controls to suit your own steering and comfort; don’t assume a specific graphics preset or frame-rate tweak exists until it is confirmed in the released game.
What you can adjust
The game is scheduled to launch worldwide on October 6, 2026, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, according to StarWars.com and its Steam listing. The available official settings information is clearest for PlayStation: its PS5 listing documents basic controller remapping, adjustable stick sensitivity, and adjustable stick inversion. It does not publish sensitivity values or a complete graphics menu.

That means you can personalize the feel of steering and feedback, but a precise numeric setup—or a platform-wide graphics recipe—cannot be substantiated from the published information. Labels and menu locations may differ by platform and final build.

Adjust stick sensitivity gradually
Start with the default sensitivity, then make small changes and assess them on the same kind of turn. Lower sensitivity may help if small stick movements make steering feel abrupt; higher sensitivity may suit a player who wants a quicker response. These are tuning principles, not tested game-specific recommendations: the PlayStation listing confirms a basic sensitivity option but gives no scale, default value, or recommended setting.
#1 Best Overall
- Compatible with Windows and Android.
- 1000Hz Polling Rate (for 2.4G and wired connection)
- Hall Effect joysticks and Hall triggers. Wear-resistant metal joystick rings.
- Extra R4/L4 bumpers. Custom button mapping without using software. Turbo function.
- Refined bumpers and D-pad. Light but tactile.
Use inversion only if it matches your preference
The listing confirms basic stick-inversion options, but does not specify every axis or the menu wording. Change inversion only when it matches the control convention you already use or an accessibility need; there is no universal setting that makes steering more responsive.
Remap awkward controls
If a frequently used action is uncomfortable to reach, check the game’s remapping or alternate-layout options. PlayStation describes remapping as basic and does not document which actions can be reassigned, so confirm the available choices in your platform’s released build.

It introduces powerful new features such as gyro settings, stick curve adjustments, and button-to-mouse mapping, giving you deeper customization and more control than ever before.
Reduce controller feedback if it gets in the way
The PlayStation listing says the game is playable without controller vibration and without adaptive-trigger effects. If vibration distracts you, or trigger resistance feels uncomfortable, try disabling the relevant feedback option and judge the feel for yourself. A GamesRadar+ review of the PS5 version, published October 2, 2026, noted resistance in the DualSense trigger during a pre-race start interaction. That is one reviewer’s observation, not a latency test or proof that turning the effect off improves input response.

Graphics: separate visual comfort from performance
PlayStation lists high-contrast visuals and other visual-comfort options, along with volume adjustment, mono or 3D audio, captions and subtitles, and adjustable difficulty or assists. These options may make the game easier to read or more comfortable to play; they are not evidence of higher frame rates.
Before changing a graphics setting to improve performance, confirm that the option exists in your platform’s released menu. The official information available before the scheduled launch does not establish whether the game includes motion blur controls, ray tracing, DLSS or FSR, dynamic resolution, V-Sync, or a console performance mode. Don’t rely on an unverified preset or claim that one of these switches makes the game smoother.

A TechRadar review of the PS5 version, published October 2, 2026, reports a smooth 60 fps experience on a base PS5. That is an attributed review observation, not a guaranteed frame rate across consoles, patches, or play conditions.
Check whether your PC meets the published minimum
Steam’s minimum requirements are a baseline for compatibility, not a promise of a particular resolution, graphics quality, or frame rate. The store listing specifies:
Best Value
- Multi-Platform PC Gaming Controller: Working with Switch, PC, Android, and iOS devices via Bluetooth, wired, and wireless dongle connections.
- Hall Effect Joysticks: Delivering enhanced recentering performance for smoother control and superior anti-drift capability. Plus, with anti-friction rings.
- 2-Way Trigger Lock: With trigger stops, gamers can toggle between short and long pull positions. Additionally, gamers can activate hair trigger mode by pressing M+LT/RT (triggers must be in the long pull position).
- 1000Hz Polling Rate: This ensures that your inputs are registered almost instantaneously, minimizing lag and maximizing your performance during competitive play.
- Mechanical Circular D-pad: Designed for quick reactions and accuracy in every direction, this D-pad elevates your gaming experience with superior responsiveness.
| Component | Steam minimum requirement |
|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10 |
| Processor | Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 |
| Memory | 12 GB RAM |
| Graphics | Nvidia RTX 2060, Intel Arc A580, or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT 6GB |
| Storage | 50 GB available space; SSD required |
These figures come from the Steam store listing. It does not state the resolution, graphics preset, or frame rate associated with the minimum configuration. Meeting the minimum therefore cannot tell you what settings will deliver your preferred performance target.
A practical launch-day tuning order
- Choose a comfortable baseline. Begin with the default controller layout and graphics settings on your platform.
- Tune steering. Change stick sensitivity in small increments, then try inversion or remapping only if needed. Test one change at a time so you can tell what affected the feel.
- Tune feedback. If vibration or adaptive-trigger resistance is distracting, disable that effect and compare how the controller feels.
- Check comfort options separately. Use contrast, captions, audio, and other accessibility options for readability or comfort rather than assuming they improve frame rate.
- For PC, compare your hardware with Steam’s minimums. If performance is unsatisfactory, use only graphics options confirmed in the actual menu; the published minimum specifications do not define an optimized preset.
More exact recommendations require confirmed menu options and testing on named hardware. Until then, adjust the documented controls to personal preference and avoid treating a reviewer’s result on one PS5 as a guarantee for another platform.
