The STAR BIRDS Antimatter Update is out now, adding campaign Level 15, a monthly Free Play challenge called Cosmic Seasons, and a larger asteroid-shaping explosive. Level 15 carries the Strangelets story to its Cinnakeet finale, while seasonal runs offer a separate, shared challenge without permanent unlocks.
What does the Antimatter Update add?
The update adds a new campaign sector and a recurring Free Play activity, alongside construction and navigation improvements. STAR BIRDS announced the update as available on October 1, 2026; its official Steam announcement says it is out now.

Campaign Level 15: the Cinnakeet finale
Level 15 continues the crew’s investigation of the Strangelets in the volcanic Cinnakeet system. The crew discovers that its destination is much farther away than expected, bringing antimatter propulsion into the story. The official patch notes identify the sector as the Cinnakeet finale.

Building and navigation improvements
The update improves the crafting tree, adds numpad shortcuts for sections of the building menu, and adds HUD shortcuts for moving between connected launch and landing pads or jumping from a quest to its delivery location.
How do Cosmic Seasons work?
Cosmic Seasons are monthly challenges played in Free Play. Each player gets the same seasonal sector, seed and starting conditions, regardless of campaign unlock progress. Seasonal runs do not grant permanent unlocks, so they are a distinct challenge rather than a route for advancing campaign progression. The patch notes list 12 seasonal achievements and leaderboards.

What does the Large Explosive do?
The Large Explosive creates bigger craters in asteroids than the existing explosive. Those larger openings can make room for additional launch or landing pads and support different factory layouts, giving players more space to organize production and logistics.
