You can track him from the Flea Market in Garbage to Swamp Tram in Zaton, where the encounter may turn into a fight. The route is reported by walkthrough guides, but its exact triggers and loot are not established as identical in every save.
Where to start Lex’s scam
Find Lex at the Flea Market in the Garbage region. He offers advice and, if you challenge him, points you toward a stash west of the market. Guides describe it as being on a tractor.

What is in the stash?
The stash is deliberately disappointing: reports describe a broken pistol and a note. Accounts differ on the pistol’s precise name and whether other items are included, so the safest expectation is not a substantial haul. The in-game note, quoted by VideoGamer, reads: “Don’t trust the loudmouths promising dope loot.” VideoGamer’s stash guide covers the location and note.
How to find Lex again
Lex’s later location is reported as Swamp Tram, a point of interest in Zaton. One reported lead is Vova Amalgam, whom guides place at the Electric Field. Rescue him and speak with him to learn where Lex is, but treat this as a reported route rather than a guaranteed trigger in every save. The exact quest behavior may vary.

What happens when you confront him?
Expect a hostile encounter rather than a peaceful settlement. Guides describe a fight; VideoGamer reports that killing Lex lets you loot his PDA. It identifies Lex as Snag and connects the scam to dealings with a kingpin; VideoGamer names that figure as Varan. The PDA offers context for the con, but the available accounts do not establish that you can recover all the gear Lex stole or receive a particular weapon every time.

If you want to close the loop on the scam, follow the Swamp Tram lead and be ready for combat. The dependable payoff is confronting Lex and learning more about the deception; do not count on a major reward or a nonviolent resolution. The reported locations and outcomes come from secondary walkthroughs, not an official encounter guide. For more detail on the reported route, see XboxPlay’s Lex location guide.
