The Stages SB200 supports Bluetooth and Wi-Fi and is named for use with TrainingPeaks Virtual, MyWhoosh, Rouvy, Zwift, and TrainerRoad. Stages recommends a spindown before your first ride; routine care centers on cleaning, monthly pedal and cleat checks, and firmware updates. Its app release notes dated 5 October 2026 add SB200 manager support in version 4.2.0.
Which apps and devices work with the Stages SB200?
Stages lists Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity for the SB200 and names TrainingPeaks Virtual, MyWhoosh, Rouvy, Zwift, and TrainerRoad among the supported virtual training platforms. Stages also says workouts can be delivered from head units and other apps. See the Stages smart bikes product page.

That list establishes named platform support, but the available SB200 information does not provide a feature-by-feature compatibility matrix. A platform being named does not by itself establish whether a particular setup offers resistance control, power and cadence data, display integration, or another specific feature. Confirm the current requirements in the app and bike documentation before choosing a connection method or expecting a particular behavior.

When checking a setup, verify four things:
- Whether the app or head unit specifically names the SB200, rather than the earlier SB20.
- Which connection method the app requires.
- Whether you need power and cadence data, resistance control, or both.
- Which device or app manages the bike’s settings and firmware.
Does the Stages Cycling app support the SB200?
Yes. Stages Cycling app release notes dated 5 October 2026 identify version 4.2.0 and say, “SB200 manager: Added support for the new SB200 smart bike.” The same release notes mention a redesigned ride page and offline saving of app-recorded rides for later upload. These are version-specific details; later app releases may change them. See the Stages Cycling Manuals release notes.

- Wide Compatibility for Most Bikes: The Sportneer indoor bike trainer fits most road and mountain bikes with 26–28" or 700C wheels and rear axles between 4.92"–6.57". Each standard version bike trainer stand comes with a quick-release skewer for easy setup. If your bike uses a thru axle, simply choose our non-standard version that comes with a Thru Axle Adapter for perfect compatibility.
- 6-Level Magnetic Resistance Adjustment: Take control of your workout. This bike trainer features a bar-mounted remote control that lets you switch between 6 resistance levels in seconds, simulating real-road conditions from flat rides to steep climbs. Customize your intensity, build endurance, and reach your fitness goals—all from home.
- Quick & Easy Bike Release: Transition from indoor training to outdoor riding in seconds. With the press-down lever clamp, you can quickly mount or remove your bike from the stationary bike stand. The included front wheel riser block and quick-release lever make installation simple, stable, and time-saving.
- Quiet, Smooth, and Stable Ride: Enjoy a focused workout with minimal noise. The magnetic wheel design of this indoor bike trainer stand reduces friction for a smooth, silent spin—so you can train anytime without disturbing others. (Note: Noise levels may vary depending on tire material and tread; slick or road tires are recommended.)
- Rock-Solid Stability on Any Surface: Built for safety and balance, this stationary bike stand features a wide base, low center of gravity, and 5 adjustable anti-slip rubber feet for extra grip—even on uneven floors. You’ll enjoy a stable and confident ride every time you train indoors.
A Stages app download support page modified on 21 March 2025 names the SB20 but not the SB200 in its general device list. For SB200-specific app support, the newer release notes are the more relevant evidence. Do not assume that detailed feature listings for the SB20 also apply to the SB200: the available Stages app compatibility documentation is explicitly for the SB20, not the SB200.
How do you calibrate the SB200 with a spindown?
Stages recommends a spindown before your first ride. It says the bike also performs spindowns automatically during regular use to help maintain accurate data. According to Stages, the automatic procedure is triggered after cadence reaches 85 RPM or higher and the rider then coasts for 10–15 seconds. The support article does not give a publication date for these figures. See Stages’ SB200 spindown instructions.

Run a manual spindown
- Open the Stages Cycling app and connect to the SB200.
- Open Diagnostics, choose Spin down, then select Start.
- Pedal until you reach 110 RPM.
- Stop pedaling and let the test run.
- When it finishes, select Ok.
Stages says the spindown measures drivetrain belt drag, which can change as the bike is used.
What maintenance does the SB200 need?
Stages says the SB200’s chain-free drivetrain has no chain to lubricate and no drivetrain tension that requires regular inspection or adjustment. Its primary routine recommendation is to keep the bike clean, especially after workouts that leave sweat on it. Wipe exterior surfaces with a soft cloth lightly dampened with water. The schedule below follows Stages’ maintenance guidance in its SB200 maintenance article.

- 【Indoor Bike Trainers】: One of the problems with cycling, though, is that when the weather gets bad, conditions can keep you off the road or trail. Maybe it is raining or is too windy outside, or perhaps you need to avoid rush hour traffic or an unsafe dusk ride. This is when you just mount your bike on to a bike trainer and get the exercise that you want, but at home. There is no reason why you can not exercise with your bike when the outside weather is bad.
- 【Strong Structure & High Load-bearing Capacity】: The unfolded bicycle training stand forms a pyramid structure, which greatly improves the stability of the entire frame. Its strong material and stable structure enable it to withstand a weight of 330 pounds. In addition, any bicycle with a wheel diameter of 26 ''to 29'' including 700c can be fitted to our stand.
- 【6 Level Resistance Adjustable】: The trainer includes a drive-by-wire device so that you can change the resistance from your handle bars directly. You can adjust the magnetic resistor and switch the six resistance levels in seconds to meet your requirements about resistance and speed.
- 【Smooth & Low Noise Operation】: There is almost no sound on the wheels on the riding platform. It is recommended to replace smooth tires during cycling training to reduce vibration, reduce indoor resonance or add carpet under the stage. In some cases it will be loud with MTB tires. If you owned a MTB with rough tires, careful to buy. Because MTB tires will be loud with all bike trainers, no matter how expensive it is.
- 【Portable Folding Bike Exercise Stand】: In order to facilitate users to carry and store our bicycle training rack, we designed it into a folding style. It just takes a minute to set it up, clamp your rear axle with the quick clamp and adjust the contact between the wheel and the polished roller. No need to use other tools, you can directly complete the installation and disassembly process by putting up or unfolding the stand.
| Interval | What to check or do |
|---|---|
| Monthly | Check pedal and cleat bolt tightness; inspect pedals and cleats for wear and replace or repair them as needed; check for and install available firmware updates. |
| Yearly | Replace bar tape and inspect handlebars for corrosion. |
| Every six months for heavy sweaters | Inspect handlebars for corrosion. |
| Immediately if corrosion is visible | Replace the handlebars. |
What should you do if the SB200 briefly loses resistance?
Stages identifies non-drive-side belt slip as a likely cause of momentary resistance loss; it may also produce error code 2. Its documented adjustment uses a 4 mm hex wrench. Follow the sequence below, then run a spindown in the app. See Stages’ belt-tension instructions.
- Remove the non-drive-side cover.
- Loosen the tensioner bracket screw, but do not remove it.
- Tighten the tensioner screw by one full turn.
- Re-tighten the bracket screw and refit the cover.
- Complete a spindown in the Stages Cycling app.
How do you level the SB200 rear stabilizer?
Stages’ procedure adjusts the feet so the bike is as upright as possible, the rear center rocker contacts the floor, and the bike does not rock side to side. See Stages’ rear stabilizer instructions.
