Spranic is an alpha-stage system that aims to give buildings and other physical spaces a persistent, shared memory. The company says a phone or depth camera can capture a space into a living 3D map, preserve object identities between visits, answer questions in plain language and report what changed. Robots are part of the longer-term vision, while buildings and facilities are the stated starting point.
What Spranic is
Spranic describes itself as “the data layer for physical AI”: a spatial record that people and machines can revisit instead of treating every scan as an isolated map. The underlying problem is that physical environments change. Equipment moves, stock is replaced, construction progresses and temporary objects appear or disappear. A robot or software system relying on an old map can therefore lose context even when the layout looks broadly familiar.

Spranic’s proposed answer is a persistent 3D representation of a place. According to the company, objects retain stable identities across visits, allowing later captures to be compared with earlier ones. In practical terms, the system is intended to answer not only “What is here?” but also “What changed since the last visit?”

How the capture and memory workflow works
- Walk through the space. Spranic says a capture can use a phone or a depth camera. Its demonstrated workflow uses a handheld depth camera, but the company does not identify a mandatory camera or phone model.
- Generate a map. Captured data is processed into a 3D map in which recognized objects are represented in their spatial context. The homepage states “72 s from walk to finished map” for its demonstration. That is a Spranic-stated example, not an independently measured benchmark or a guaranteed processing time.
- Revisit the map. The intended value is persistence: a later visit can be related to the existing spatial record rather than creating an unrelated snapshot.
- Ask questions. Spranic says its alpha app lets users browse the map and ask questions in plain language, reducing the need to inspect raw spatial data manually.
- Review a change report. After another capture, the app is described as producing a report showing what moved, appeared or disappeared.
The pages do not state how object recognition is implemented, what accuracy threshold is used, how long data is retained, or which devices and operating systems are supported. Those details matter for production deployments and remain unspecified in the public material.
Can robots use Spranic’s spatial memory?
Robotics is an explicit part of Spranic’s intended direction. The company gives the example of robots retaining their bearings in changing spaces, suggesting that a fleet could use a shared, updated spatial record instead of relying only on an onboard map created during one run. A common memory could also provide people and robots with the same reference when a handover, inspection or maintenance task requires evidence of the environment.

However, the public pages do not establish a working robot integration, supported robot operating system, API, navigation interface or deployed fleet. Spranic’s homepage frames robot-fleet use as a subsequent direction and says the company starts in buildings. It is therefore more accurate to describe robot support as a proposed application and development goal, not as a generally available capability.

Where Spranic says the system could be used
| Area | Proposed use | Evidence status |
|---|---|---|
| Facilities and buildings | Keep a current record of rooms, equipment and changes | Stated starting focus; not independently validated |
| Construction | Compare site conditions and document handovers | Listed application; outcomes not published |
| Logistics and manufacturing | Track inventory or changing work areas | Listed application; no deployment data stated |
| Service robotics and inspection | Give robots or technicians a shared spatial reference | Intended application; integration details not stated |
| Agriculture and retail | Monitor changing physical layouts and assets | Listed application; no independent results stated |
Spranic summarizes some of these ideas with examples such as inventory that counts itself, inspections that flag differences and handovers with proof. They describe workflows the platform is meant to support, rather than verified customer deployments.

How mature is the product?
Spranic presents the product as an alpha and invites alpha users, pilots and partnerships. Its about page names Jordi Spranger as founder and describes an early project in which a rover mapped an apartment, followed by a goal of reaching first pilot sites. This points to an early development and validation stage rather than broad commercial availability.
The official pages reviewed do not establish public pricing, general availability outside the alpha, service-level commitments, detailed hardware requirements, privacy or data-retention terms, or independently verified customer performance. Organizations considering a pilot would need to obtain those terms directly and clarify data ownership, security, supported capture devices, processing location and integration responsibilities before deployment.

What a prospective pilot should clarify
- Which phone and depth-camera models are supported, and whether processing requires an internet connection.
- How the system handles poor lighting, reflective surfaces, occlusion and spaces that change substantially between visits.
- What “stable identity” means in practice and how users correct a mistaken object match.
- How quickly maps and change reports are produced under the pilot’s expected capture size.
- Whether a robot can consume the map through an API or export format, and which navigation stack is supported.
- Where captures are stored, how long they are retained, who can access them and how they are deleted.
- What success metrics will be measured, such as change-detection precision, mapping time and operator effort.
Bottom line for readers
Spranic’s central idea is a living spatial record that connects successive captures of the same physical place. Its alpha app is described as combining 3D mapping, natural-language questions and change reports, with capture available from a phone or depth camera. Robots may eventually use that shared memory, but the public information supports describing that as a future application rather than a proven, ready-made fleet integration. For now, Spranic is best understood as an early-stage platform seeking pilots, beginning with buildings and facilities.
