What game is this?
The original Battle for Bikini Bottom launched in 2003. Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated is a rebuilt version released for PC and consoles on June 23, 2020. Android and iOS received ports of Rehydrated, not the original 2003 software. HandyGames, a THQ Nordic company, published the mobile version with Nickelodeon licensing. Gameplay and characters
This is a 3D platforming adventure through Bikini Bottom. You explore themed areas, collect items, solve environmental challenges and fight robot enemies while following the story. SpongeBob, Patrick and Sandy are playable, and each has different moves. SpongeBob’s underpants-bungee ability and Sandy’s lasso help reach areas and overcome obstacles. The remake includes updated presentation, familiar characters and original television voices, according to HandyGames’ description.

Is the mobile release the full game?
It is presented as a premium port containing the core single-player Rehydrated adventure. The mobile descriptions list the three playable characters, story levels, updated visuals, touch controls and controller support. Do not assume complete feature parity with every PC or console edition, however.
The console and PC versions prominently advertise a two-player horde mode, including online and offline play; the mobile listings and publisher description reviewed here do not list that mode. Ads, purchases and offline play
HandyGames launched the title as a one-time premium purchase and said the experience had no hidden paywalls, pay-to-win systems or advertising. The current store listings reviewed present it as a paid game rather than a free-to-play product. Platform policies or future listing changes can still affect optional services.
Google Play currently labels the game offline and single-player. That means the main adventure is intended to run without a network after installation. Buying, downloading, installing, updating and platform authentication may require internet access. Cloud saves, achievements, Google Play Games and Game Center behavior depend on your account and connection settings.
Touch controls versus a controller
- Touch: included with the mobile edition and convenient for short sessions, but virtual buttons can feel cramped during precise platforming.
- Bluetooth or USB controller: advertised by both stores and HandyGames; generally preferable for long sessions and camera or jump control. Actual behavior depends on the device, operating system, controller and button mapping.
- Tablet: gives touch controls more room while remaining subject to the same performance and compatibility checks.

The U.S. iOS page displayed 3.1 GB when checked. Android’s final installed footprint can vary by device and update, so use the Google Play figure for your handset rather than treating 3.1 GB as a universal Android requirement.

- You are comfortable with touch controls or own a compatible controller.
Choose another platform if

- You dislike 3D platforming on a small touchscreen.

Apple currently shortens the title to SpongeBob SquarePants; the description identifies the Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated remake.
Why does Android use “BfBB”?
