Its defining feature is a rigid carbon plate you can install or remove, so one pair can act as a daily trainer or as faster-day equipment. The main catch is that it doesn’t work with custom insoles. This review draws on Speedland’s own specifications, RTINGS’ published lab-style review and retailer descriptions. It is not a hands-on test.
What the RX:PNW is
Speedland calls the RX:PNW its first “Hyper Performance Road Trainer,” and its product page describes it as “the first Hyper Performance Road Trainer that can transform from daily trainer to fast day equipment.” The brand positions it for long distances. That is Speedland’s marketing language, not an independent finding. The “PNW” in the name should not make you think trail: this model is built for pavement. (Speedland product page)

Speedland also lists a BOA Fit System and a high-tenacity upper as construction features. Those are manufacturer descriptions. I found no confirmed model-specific replacement program for the BOA hardware, so ask the seller about service before buying.
How the removable plate works
Speedland says a rigid carbon plate is included and removable. Running Warehouse describes the plate as 0.8 oz and says you insert or remove it by lifting out the removable drop-in foam layer; the plate sits beneath that layer. (Running Warehouse)

- Plate out: the softer, more conventional daily-training setup and the lighter one.
- Plate in: a stiffer, faster-feeling configuration for tempo work, long runs or racing. It adds weight, which RTINGS puts at just over 20 g per shoe.
Specifications: claimed versus measured
The two sources differ, partly because of method and configuration, so treat neither as a single settled spec.

What independent testing says
RTINGS describes deep cushioning and judges the shoe suitable for daily mileage and long-distance racing. That is one reviewer’s conclusion, not a guarantee, and the sources I found include no head-to-head tests against other premium trainers. So I can’t name it a winner over any rival.

Speedland states the RX:PNW is not compatible with custom insoles. Syndicate Running also names the removable midsole layer as a reason orthotic users should look elsewhere. (Syndicate Running) If you rely on orthotics, this is likely a dealbreaker.

- Look elsewhere: orthotic users, trail runners, and anyone who wants a proven winner among premium trainers.
When comparing with alternatives, line up the surface, whether the plate is installed, how weight was measured, stack and drop, insole compatibility and current price.
