South Korea beat Chinese Taipei 3-0 in the League of Legends final, Yonhap News Agency reported on October 2, 2026, to claim its second consecutive Asian Games title. Yonhap also confirmed that Faker earned a second Asiad gold. Insider Gaming reported that Zeus and Keria did as well, and described Korea’s campaign as a flawless run.
How South Korea won the final
Yonhap reported that South Korea swept Chinese Taipei 3-0 at Aichi Sky Expo in Tokoname. The result made Korea the back-to-back champion in the event: Yonhap says the country won the inaugural Asian Games League of Legends title at Hangzhou before repeating at Aichi-Nagoya.

Yonhap’s October 2 match report contains an inconsistent year label: one sentence calls the competition the “2025 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games,” while the same report is dated October 2, 2026, and Yonhap’s May 2026 preview described the Aichi-Nagoya Games as upcoming. The official LoL Esports results page also identifies an Asian Games 2026 tournament. The reported final is therefore best described as the 2026 Asian Games final, while noting that Yonhap’s match report includes the conflicting 2025 label.
What “flawless run” means in the reporting
Insider Gaming reported that South Korea went 3-0 in the group stage, beat Saudi Arabia in the semifinal, and then defeated Chinese Taipei 3-0 in the final. It characterized the campaign as a run without dropping a game. That full stage-by-stage account comes from Insider Gaming: the accessible official LoL Esports results page displays the tournament’s group and knockout stages but does not expose readable match scores to independently verify the run.

Who played, and did Faker appear in the final?
Yonhap named South Korea’s six match-day players as Lee Sang-hyeok, Choi Woo-je, Kim Geon-woo, Ryu Min-seok, Kim Gun-boo, and Lee Min-hyung. Insider Gaming identifies them by their esports names as Faker, Zeus, Zeka, Keria, Canyon, and Gumayusi.
According to Insider Gaming, Faker played against India during the group stage, then took a coaching role and was not in the final lineup. The outlet gives the final five as Zeus, Canyon, Zeka, Gumayusi, and Keria. Yonhap independently confirms Faker’s second gold, but its October match report does not corroborate those lineup details.
