Sound System will enter PC Early Access on Steam on November 4, 2026, three weeks later than its previously planned October 16 launch. The delay applies to the PC Early Access release; the cited announcement gives no dates for the planned console versions.
What is the new Sound System Early Access date?
Echo Foundry Interactive’s revised date is November 4, 2026, replacing October 16. Gematsu reported the change following the October 1 announcement. Steam’s store page lists the release year as 2026 but does not give the newly announced day. Gematsu’s date report and the Steam store page provide those distinct details.

Which platforms are included?
Early Access is planned for PC through Steam. The announcement places PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Switch 2 versions at full launch, but does not establish their release dates. The delay is therefore not an announced change to a dated console launch.
What will be in Early Access?
Rhythm gameplay and controls
The game is presented as a rhythm title for guitar, bass, and vocals. Players can use guitar controllers they already own, a standard controller, or a keyboard; the announcement does not verify compatibility for particular hardware models. Local split-screen supports up to three players.
#1 Best Overall
Four difficulty levels range from Easy to Legendary. Classic mode is described as having no fail, while Pro mode allows only a limited number of missed notes. An in-game chart editor called PulseMap uses the .chart format. These features are described in the launch announcement.
Song count and reported pricing
Digitally Downloaded reports that Early Access will include over 50 songs, with core tracks from emerging artists free and studio covers priced at USD 1. That is secondary reporting: the cited Steam listing does not substantiate the song count or cover pricing. The store page says the Early Access price will start lower and rise as development and content continue, but does not state an actual starting price.

What is planned after launch?
The studio estimates that Early Access will last about six months. That is an estimate, not a fixed end date. Steam’s developer-authored description says the initial phase will focus on single-player and local multiplayer. Music uploads for players’ own collections are planned for a later phase, while online multiplayer for up to three players is planned for full release. Those are future plans, not confirmed delivery dates or guarantees.
Co-founder Lennon Lange said the studio hopes “Sound System will bring families together again as they did 20 years ago,” in the launch announcement.
