Among these five India-market 55-inch 4K TVs, the TCL 55C7L has the most ambitious listed display hardware: SQD-Mini LED, 144Hz, 800 dimming zones and HDR brightness of up to 2,700 nits. The VW Visio World VW55GQ2 stands out for its listed 60W speakers, while the Sony K-55S25M2 and K-55S25BM2 focus on Sony processing and everyday viewing at 50Hz. The TCL 55P71K is a 60Hz QLED option for routine streaming and TV.

Those are specification-based distinctions, not results from independent testing. Compare the exact model code, native refresh rate, backlight and dimming, inputs, audio and current local availability before buying.

Which TV makes sense for your viewing?

For everyday TV and streaming

The 50Hz Sony sets and the 60Hz TCL 55P71K and VW55GQ2 are positioned for ordinary television, films and streaming rather than high-refresh gaming. The Sony models add 4K Processor X1 and 4K X-Reality PRO on the K-55S25M2, and Motionflow XR 100 on the K-55S25BM2. These are reported processing and motion features; they do not change the stated 50Hz native panel rate.

For sports and high-refresh gaming

The TCL 55C7L is the only model here listed with a 144Hz native panel. That makes it the strongest paper choice for high-frame-rate content, subject to the connected device, input capabilities and content actually supporting the relevant frame rates. TCL 55P71K is described as supporting higher-refresh gaming features, but its native panel is listed at 60Hz; a feature label should not be mistaken for a 120Hz or 144Hz panel. The 50Hz Sony models are the least suited of this group to high-refresh gaming.

For HDR and dark-scene contrast

HDR format support alone does not establish how bright or convincing HDR will look. The reported TCL 55C7L specification combines HDR with Mini LED, 800 dimming zones and up to 2,700 nits; those figures are product claims, not independent measurements. Mini LED local dimming can control groups of backlights more precisely than a conventional backlight, but it is not OLED-style pixel-level light control.

The 55P71K and VW55GQ2 are QLED models, but the comparison says they lack Mini LED local dimming. QLED can support richer colour, yet colour technology alone does not determine overall picture quality: backlighting, processing and HDR performance also matter. The Sony K-55S25BM2 is listed for HDR10 and HLG; the comparison does not establish Dolby Vision support for these models.

For built-in sound

The listed outputs are 60W for the VW55GQ2, 35W for the TCL 55P71K and 20W for each Sony. Wattage is not a complete measure of sound quality, and the comparison does not give matching speaker configuration details for all five models. A soundbar is optional: it may help if you want more volume, bass or separation, but it is not a requirement for every setup.

Questions to check before choosing

Is QLED better than a standard LED TV?

QLED can deliver richer colour, but the label does not tell you everything about picture quality. In this lineup, the more consequential distinction for dark-scene contrast is whether the TV has Mini LED local dimming; the 55C7L is the model listed with that hardware.

Do you need a 120Hz TV for films and television?

Not necessarily. For routine TV and streaming, the 50Hz and 60Hz models may be adequate. A higher native refresh rate is more relevant if you watch high-frame-rate sports or play games that can output higher frame rates.

Does every 4K smart TV support Dolby Vision?

No. HDR formats vary by model. The comparison lists HDR10 and HLG for the K-55S25BM2, but does not provide enough evidence to claim Dolby Vision support for any of the five models. Check the exact regional model specification if a particular HDR format is important to you.

Should you buy a soundbar with a 55-inch TV?

Only if the built-in sound does not meet your needs. A soundbar can add volume, bass and separation, but the listed TV wattage alone cannot predict how good a system will sound in your room.

Verify the exact TV before paying

  • Match the full model code on the product listing to the model you intend to buy; regional variants can differ.
  • Confirm the current price, seller, stock, return terms and service coverage. These are time-sensitive and were not independently checked for this comparison.
  • Check the number of HDMI ports against your devices. The Sony models are reported to have four HDMI inputs; VW lists three. Confirm whether the specific port you plan to use supports eARC or the gaming features you need.
  • Check the official specifications for the exact India variant, especially refresh rate, HDR formats, dimming and audio. TCL’s UK listing corroborates headline 55C7L display figures for a UK variant, but does not establish that the India version is identical: TCL UK 55C7L.
  • Do not use a similarly named model from another region as a substitute. Sony’s US BRAVIA 5 K-55XR50C is a different TV and does not verify either Sony model listed here: Sony USA BRAVIA 5 K-55XR50C.

The VW55GQ2’s exact official product specifications were not confirmed, and its availability or support may vary. Treat its reported specifications as a starting point for checking the live listing, not as a substitute for confirmation from the seller or manufacturer.
