What is known about Sony’s negotiations?
TheWrap reported on October 2, 2026, that Sony Pictures had emerged as the frontrunner and was in talks to land the package. A Hindustan Times report by PTI on October 3 also said Sony was negotiating after a multi-studio bidding process, and reported that Sony declined to comment. The project drew bids from Warner Bros. Discovery, Amazon MGM Studios, Sony, Universal and Netflix, according to TheWrap’s April 30, 2026 report. The available coverage does not give comparable offer terms, so it does not establish why Sony is leading or how the studios’ bids differed. TheWrap

TheWrap reports that Christopher McQuarrie is set to write, direct and produce the adaptation. Jordan is onboard as a producer, while a possible acting role remains conditional: PTI says it depends on several factors. His involvement as a producer should not be read as confirmation that he will appear onscreen. The reports do not establish a finalized cast beyond these reported attachments.

What could the movie be about?
No film plot has been confirmed. EA’s released game Battlefield 6 offers franchise context, not a verified synopsis for the adaptation. EA says the game is set in 2027, after an assassination and the departure of several European countries from NATO; the private military company Pax Armata seeks to fill the resulting power vacuum. Its single-player campaign follows Dagger 13 against Pax Armata across nine missions, including action in Brooklyn and Cairo. None of those details confirms that the film will adapt the game’s story.
