Every edition includes the same two main campaigns: a remastered Sonic Generations and the new Shadow Generations. Standard is the straightforward choice if you want to play both. Digital Deluxe adds digital extras and additional Shadow content; Collector’s Edition is aimed at buyers who want the physical figure, shoe keychain, and artbook. Prices and availability vary by region and platform, so check the current listing before buying.
What is included in every edition?
SEGA describes Sonic X Shadow Generations as two adventures in one game: a complete remaster of Sonic Generations and a new Shadow Generations campaign featuring Shadow and his Doom Powers. The Sonic campaign revisits 2D and 3D stages with updated visuals and added content; SEGA specifically lists Casino Nights Zone as part of the base game. SEGA’s release notice and its products page describe the bundled campaigns and editions.

Platform, format, and regional differences
SEGA’s June 2024 announcement named PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Steam, and Epic Games Store, and said Xbox and PC versions would be digital-only in its launch information. That is a launch-era statement, not a guarantee of present-day distribution in every region. Confirm the format and platform on the seller’s live page.
The Collector’s Edition details cited here come from SEGA’s Japanese launch announcement, which names PS5 and Nintendo Switch. Do not assume that bundle or its platform selection is available in every market; check the local listing for included items and compatibility.

Launch prices are historical, not current offers
The following figures are launch suggested prices announced in 2024, not verified current retailer prices:
| Market and source | Standard | Digital Deluxe | Collector’s Edition |
|---|---|---|---|
| Japan, SEGA Corporation 2024 suggested pricing | ¥6,589 | ¥7,689 | ¥12,969; Japanese announcement limited the edition to PS5 and Nintendo Switch |
| UK, SEGA of America 2024 launch announcement | £44.99 | £54.99 | Not stated in that announcement |
The Japanese figures appear in SEGA’s June 2024 announcement and October 2024 release notice; the UK launch figures are from SEGA of America’s October 2024 announcement. They should not be compared with a current seller’s price as if both were quoted at the same time.

Which edition should you buy?
Choose Standard for the two campaigns
If your priority is playing the Sonic and Shadow campaigns, Standard gives you the base game without paying for add-ons or physical collectibles. Compare its live price with the Deluxe listing on your platform before deciding whether the extras are worth the difference.
Choose Digital Deluxe for specific digital extras
Digital Deluxe makes sense if you particularly want items such as the digital artbook and soundtrack, Terios, extra music, skill points, or the additional Shadow content. Check the current listing carefully so you know which content is included with that purchase.
Choose Collector’s Edition for the physical items
Pick this edition if the Shadow figure, shoe keychain, and artbook are the reason to spend more, and you can find a listing for your region and platform. Its value depends on whether you want those collectibles, not on access to a different main campaign.
