The Dimensity has a clearly specified eight-core layout built from Cortex-X4 and Cortex-A720 cores; Qualcomm lists a Kryo CPU peaking at 3.2 GHz without detailing the same core arrangement on its product page. Benchmarks also change with the handset, graphics API and test method. Compare the phones built around these chips—especially their cooling, battery, software and regional configuration—rather than choosing from one score.
How do their specifications differ?
The most visible architectural distinction is the Dimensity 9400e’s published CPU cluster. MediaTek specifies four Cortex-X4 cores and four Cortex-A720 cores, with different maximum clocks for the X4 cores. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 product page gives a peak CPU clock and names its Kryo CPU, but does not provide an equivalent core-by-core layout there.

Specifications describe platform capabilities, not a promise that every phone will implement them. A manufacturer’s choice of display, camera sensors, memory, modem configuration and software determines what a particular handset offers.

What do the benchmarks say?
There is no single, neutral cross-chip result in the cited evidence that settles which platform is faster overall. Results from individual phones and aggregated benchmark databases disagree, so read each score with its test source and conditions.

One direct comparison: iQOO Neo 10 and realme GT 7
Smartprix updated a comparison on May 30, 2025, using an iQOO Neo 10 with Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 and a realme GT 7 with Dimensity 9400e. Both phones ran in their highest performance modes: Monster mode on the iQOO and GT mode on the realme.
| Test | iQOO Neo 10 Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 |
realme GT 7 Dimensity 9400e |
Higher cited result |
|---|---|---|---|
| AnTuTu V10 | 1,960,780 | 2,236,357 | realme GT 7 |
| Geekbench 6 CPU, single-core / multi-core | 2,064 / 6,541 | 2,200 / 7,252 | realme GT 7 on both |
| Geekbench 6 OpenCL GPU | 13,920 | 14,945 | realme GT 7 |
| Geekbench 6 Vulkan GPU | 18,816 | 15,417 | iQOO Neo 10 |
| 3DMark Wild Life Extreme | 3,499 | 5,247 | realme GT 7 |
| 3DMark stress-test stability | 77.5% | 68.3% | iQOO Neo 10 |
The GPU ranking reverses between OpenCL and Vulkan, a useful reminder that graphics performance is not captured by one score. In Smartprix’s listed game tests, the realme had slightly higher frame rates in Wuthering Waves and BGMI, while Genshin Impact results were close; its measured temperatures were generally lower. These are results for the tested phones and conditions, not proof that every Dimensity 9400e phone runs cooler or that the chip alone caused the difference. Cooling and other handset design choices can affect the outcome.
Why other benchmark tables disagree
Aggregated databases report different standings. NanoReview’s database, accessed in 2026, lists AnTuTu 10 totals of 2,082,208 for Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 and 2,093,827 for Dimensity 9400e, plus Geekbench 6 single-core/multi-core scores of 2,154/6,880 and 2,233/7,258, respectively. By contrast, 91mobiles lists a Dimensity 9400e AnTuTu value of 2,125,733 and a higher 2,366,913 score for Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 in its comparison. These figures come from each database’s device pool and aggregation method; they are not results from one shared test session.

Notebookcheck’s report on MediaTek’s launch-event comparison cites 8,000 in Geekbench 6.2 multi-core and 99 fps in a 1440p GFXBench Aztec Ruins Vulkan test for the Dimensity 9400e, against roughly 7,300 and 77 fps for Snapdragon. Notebookcheck cautions that MediaTek’s direct comparison is selectively framed and says hands-on testing is preferable. Treat those launch-event figures as vendor-presented comparison results reported by Notebookcheck, not as an independent universal ranking.
Which is better for gaming?
The answer depends on the game, graphics API and phone. In the cited Smartprix comparison, the realme GT 7 led the iQOO Neo 10 in OpenCL, Wild Life Extreme and some listed game frame rates, while the iQOO scored higher in Vulkan and had higher stress-test stability. The measured temperatures also favored the realme in that comparison, but they reflect complete handset designs as well as their chips.
MediaTek advertises mobile ray tracing, Adaptive Gaming Technology 2.0 and Frame Rate Converter 2.0+ for the Dimensity 9400e. Its product page claims up to 40% power savings with MFRC 2.0+ in popular titles; this is a conditional vendor claim, not an independently measured battery comparison against the Snapdragon platform. Qualcomm lists hardware ray tracing, Adaptive Performance Engine and Game Super Resolution 2.0 for the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. Feature names alone do not establish that a particular game, phone or regional model supports or enables them.

For sustained gaming, check tests of the exact phone you intend to buy. Useful details include performance mode, game and graphics settings, session length, frame-rate consistency, temperature and whether the phone throttles. A short peak benchmark cannot answer how comfortably a handset will perform over a longer session.

These chips are not ordinary standalone consumer purchases. The practical choice is between handsets such as the iQOO Neo 10 and realme GT 7 used in Smartprix’s comparison. Check current listings and regional availability directly: models, specifications and features can differ by market.
- Cooling and sustained performance: Prefer comparable long-session tests for the exact model and performance mode, not a result from another phone using the same chip.
- Battery behavior: Look for handset-level battery tests under stated conditions. MediaTek’s MFRC power-saving figure is a feature claim and does not establish which phone lasts longer.
- Software and support: Verify the update policy and preinstalled software for the specific phone and sales region; chipset capabilities do not determine a manufacturer’s support commitment.
- Connectivity and other features: Confirm the phone’s local specifications and supported network bands. Platform-level Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, camera, display and storage capabilities may not all appear in a given handset.
- Price and configuration: Compare current local prices, storage and memory options, warranty and regional model identifiers. The available benchmark evidence does not establish current prices or stock.
Bottom line: choose the handset, not a benchmark winner
The Dimensity 9400e’s published CPU layout and the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4’s listed peak clock are not directly comparable descriptions of identical architectures. Benchmark evidence gives the Dimensity an edge in several cited tests, but GPU results vary by API, and the tested iQOO led in Vulkan and stress-test stability. Choose between specific phones based on their sustained performance, cooling, battery behavior, software support, regional configuration and price—not a synthetic score presented as a universal verdict.
