Apple’s A18 leads the available Geekbench 6 CPU results, while the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 leads the listed AnTuTu 11 and two 3DMark graphics results. Those figures come from different kinds of tests and have important limits—especially AnTuTu’s warning that Android and iOS scores are not directly comparable—so they do not establish a universal winner or predict how two specific phones will perform.
Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 vs Apple A18 at a glance
The figures below are from NanoReview’s comparison page, accessed October 7, 2026. Benchmark aggregates can change as results are added. Geekbench 6 sample counts are uneven, and the AnTuTu source cautions against comparing Android and iOS totals directly.

These are chip-level database listings, not a controlled comparison between phones under matched conditions. Handset cooling, power limits, display resolution, firmware, and workload can change observed performance. The process-node figures also do not, by themselves, determine which chip is faster or more efficient.

In NanoReview’s Geekbench 6 comparison, A18 has the higher single-core and multi-core aggregates: 3,431 and 8,638, compared with 2,072 and 6,649 for Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. The page lists 6 A18 samples and 50 Snapdragon samples, so the results are not based on equally sized pools. They are useful as a snapshot, not a guarantee for every handset.

Geekbench figures should be compared only within the same benchmark version. Geekbench Browser’s iOS chart, accessed October 7, 2026, shows iPhone 16 with A18 at 2,798 single-core and 7,585 multi-core in Geekbench 7. That chart uses user-submitted results and requires at least five unique results per device; its values are dynamic. They are not a direct replacement for NanoReview’s Geekbench 6 numbers.
What do the graphics benchmarks say?
NanoReview’s listed 3DMark results favor Snapdragon 8s Gen 4: 1,688 to 1,579 in Steel Nomad Light, and 7,641 to 6,750 in Solar Bay. These are results reported on the comparison page, not proof that every Snapdragon phone will deliver higher frame rates or sustain gaming performance better than every A18 phone.
For a gaming decision, compare the exact phones, not just their chip names. Screen resolution, cooling design, firmware, power settings, and the length of a gaming session all affect the experience. The cited results do not establish a matched, sustained gaming test between specific Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 and A18 handsets.
How much weight should you give AnTuTu?
NanoReview lists AnTuTu 11 totals of 2,314,417 for Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 and 1,972,476 for A18. The same source explicitly warns that Android and iOS AnTuTu scores are not directly comparable. Treat the numbers as platform-specific database results rather than a reliable cross-platform ranking.
How do the chips’ specifications differ?
CPU and memory
NanoReview lists an eight-core Snapdragon arrangement—one Cortex-X4 and seven Cortex-A720 cores—and a six-core A18 arrangement with two performance and four efficiency cores. Core counts and peak clock speeds do not alone determine application speed; software, workload, and the phone’s power and thermal limits matter. The same database lists maximum memory bandwidth at 76.8 GB/s for Snapdragon and 60 GB/s for A18. Bandwidth is a platform specification, not a standalone prediction of app performance.

Graphics and platform features
Qualcomm describes Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 as including an Adreno GPU, hardware-accelerated ray tracing, a Hexagon NPU, a Snapdragon 5G modem-RF, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and Snapdragon Elite Gaming features. These are platform capabilities; handset makers may implement or configure features differently.
Qualcomm also advertises 31% improved CPU performance and up to 49% improved GPU performance. Those are Qualcomm’s claims against the previous-generation Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, not an independent comparison with Apple A18.
What this means when choosing a phone
The A18 appears in iPhone 16 models, while Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 is used in phones including the POCO F7. A chip comparison is not a direct iPhone 16-versus-POCO F7 phone test. For a purchase, first choose the operating system and handset features that suit you, then compare the exact models available in your region.
- For CPU performance, the cited Geekbench 6 aggregates favor A18, with the qualification that the sample counts differ substantially.
- For the listed 3DMark results, Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 is ahead, but the scores do not establish sustained gaming performance across phones.
- Do not use the cited AnTuTu 11 totals as a direct Android-versus-iOS verdict.
- For battery life, heat, camera output, and day-to-day responsiveness, seek tests of the particular phones using comparable workloads and conditions; chip-level scores cannot settle those questions.
