NanoReview reports scores of 1,317,007 and 1,010,069 respectively, but those are user-submitted aggregates from unequal sample sizes—not results from a controlled, same-phone test. The numbers indicate a trend, not a guarantee of how any particular phone will perform.

What the benchmark comparison says
AnTuTu 11
NanoReview lists an AnTuTu 11 score of 1,317,007 for Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 and 1,010,069 for Snapdragon 870. That is a higher reported aggregate for the 7+ Gen 2 in this comparison. It does not establish that every 7+ Gen 2 phone will beat every Snapdragon 870 phone: the scores come from different numbers of submitted tests, not a controlled test of matched devices.
Why scores differ between phones
A benchmark result reflects more than the name of the chip. Phone design, cooling, software, and the benchmark version can all affect the score. The figure is useful as one comparison point, but it cannot by itself predict sustained gaming performance, battery life, or the overall experience of a particular handset.

How to interpret Qualcomm’s performance claims
When Qualcomm announced Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 on March 17, 2023, it claimed up to 50% improved CPU performance, 2x GPU performance, and up to 13% improved system power efficiency. These are Qualcomm’s launch claims, not independent head-to-head test results against Snapdragon 870. They should not be treated as guaranteed gains in every phone or use case. The announcement is available in Qualcomm’s March 17, 2023 release.
Which chipset should you choose?
Consider Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 if
- You are choosing between phones and the 7+ Gen 2 model offers the better overall package for your needs.
- The higher AnTuTu 11 aggregate is relevant as one signal, while you recognize that it does not guarantee a specific phone’s results.
Consider Snapdragon 870 if
- A Snapdragon 870 phone is a better fit on factors such as price, display, battery, cooling, or software support.
- You value its listed components, including the Kryo 585 CPU, Adreno 650 GPU, Snapdragon X55 modem, and FastConnect 6800 connectivity.
The chip comparison cannot determine which individual phone is the better purchase. Compare the actual handsets’ sustained performance, cooling, software support, display, battery, price, and supported connectivity bands before deciding.
