There is no single winner in the available results: Tensor G5 edges Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in NanoReview’s Geekbench 6 single-core aggregate, while Snapdragon leads its multicore and graphics results. These are aggregates from different phone submissions—not matched tests of identical devices—so they indicate tendencies, not guaranteed performance in every handset.

Specifications at a glance

Specification Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Google Tensor G5
CPU layout listed by NanoReview 1× Cortex-X4, 3× Cortex-A720, 2× Cortex-A720, 2× Cortex-A520 1× Cortex-X4, 5× Cortex-A725, 2× Cortex-A520
Official CPU description in the cited source Qualcomm lists one prime core up to 3.4 GHz, five performance cores up to 3.2 GHz, and two efficiency cores up to 2.3 GHz. Maximum frequency varies by platform version. Not stated in the cited sources.
Manufacturing process listed by NanoReview 4 nm 3 nm

The layouts and process labels come from NanoReview’s comparison data; Qualcomm’s product brief supplies the Snapdragon frequency ceilings. A listed maximum is not a promise that a phone will sustain that speed: handset power settings and cooling affect operation.

How the benchmark results compare

NanoReview’s comparison page, accessed in 2026, displays these aggregate scores. Its sample counts are unequal, so treat the point values as indicative rather than as a controlled head-to-head result.

Benchmark Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Tensor G5 Reading the result
Geekbench 6 single-core 2,203; 139 submissions 2,305; 8 submissions Tensor G5 is higher in this aggregate.
Geekbench 6 multicore 6,511; 139 submissions 6,054; 8 submissions Snapdragon is higher in this aggregate.
AnTuTu 11 total 2,345,563; 443 submissions 1,549,798; 16 submissions Snapdragon has the higher composite score; this is not a CPU-only test.
AnTuTu 11 GPU subscore 805,478 183,228 Snapdragon is substantially higher in this aggregate’s graphics subscore.
Geekbench GPU compute 15,378; 90 submissions 4,116; 7 submissions The listed results use different APIs—OpenCL and Vulkan—so they are not a strict like-for-like comparison.
3DMark Steel Nomad Light 1,652; 79% stability; 12 FPS 1,012; 96% stability; 7 FPS These are third-party aggregates from uncontrolled device submissions.

The benchmark values and sample counts are from NanoReview’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 vs Tensor G5 comparison. The substantially smaller Tensor G5 samples make its exact aggregate especially sensitive to which devices contributed results.

What the CPU scores mean

Single-core work

Tensor G5’s small lead in NanoReview’s Geekbench 6 single-core aggregate suggests a slight advantage in that particular snapshot for work that leans on one CPU core. The difference is modest, and the Tensor sample has only eight submissions compared with 139 for Snapdragon. It is not enough to conclude that every Tensor G5 phone will feel faster in everyday use.

Multicore work

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 leads the cited Geekbench 6 multicore aggregate, which measures workloads using multiple CPU cores. Its advantage in this comparison is consistent with the higher aggregate score, but results will still depend on the handset’s implementation and the task being run.

Graphics, gaming, and platform features

The available graphics-oriented results favor Snapdragon 8 Gen 3: it scores higher in NanoReview’s AnTuTu 11 GPU subscore, Geekbench GPU compute listing, and 3DMark Steel Nomad Light aggregate. The 3DMark figures also show a higher reported stability percentage for Tensor G5, despite its lower score and frame rate. These third-party submissions are not controlled tests, and the Geekbench GPU entries use different APIs. No single benchmark establishes the performance ratio in a particular game, at a particular resolution, or over a long session.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform Product Brief lists an Adreno GPU with hardware-accelerated ray tracing, LPDDR5x support up to 4,800 MHz, memory density up to 24 GB, and UFS 4.0. These are platform capabilities, not a guarantee that every Snapdragon phone includes the same memory configuration or exposes every feature. Qualcomm cautions: “Results will vary, depending on OEM implementation and other factors.”

Which phones use these chips?

Geekbench’s live Android benchmark chart identifies Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro as Tensor G5 devices. The chart snapshot surfaced in 2026 showed user-submitted Geekbench 6 scores of 1,906 for Pixel 10 and 1,897 for Pixel 10 Pro. Those live scores can change as submissions arrive and should be used to identify real Tensor G5 implementations, not as fixed lab measurements.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 appears in multiple phone models. 91mobiles lists OnePlus 12 and Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra as examples; availability and chipset variants can differ by model and region, so verify the precise handset version before using any phone result as a proxy for the chip.

What these comparisons cannot tell you

The cited material does not establish which chip gives better battery life, runs cooler, or sustains higher performance in matched phones. A process-node label or a peak benchmark score cannot answer those questions by itself. The phone’s cooling design, battery, display, software, modem, memory, and power limits all contribute to the experience.
