That gives the Snapdragon the lead in these snapshots, but it does not prove that every phone using it will outperform every Dimensity 9300 phone: handset cooling, firmware, power settings, memory, and test conditions all affect results.
Which chip scores higher in benchmarks?
Both comparison pages report higher scores for the Snapdragon 8 Elite. The figures below are results posted by those publishers, not a controlled, matched-phone test. Different benchmark versions and sample counts also mean the two sets should be read separately.

| NanoReview: Geekbench 6 single-core | 3,013 | 2,186 |
| NanoReview: Geekbench 6 multi-core | 9,287 | 7,422 |
91mobiles’ comparison labels its figures as tested scores. NanoReview’s comparison displays 541 AnTuTu samples for the Snapdragon and 16 for the Dimensity; its Geekbench sample counts are 148 and 9, respectively. These unequal sample counts, along with unspecified matching conditions in the cited comparisons, make the results useful as directional evidence rather than proof from a controlled head-to-head trial.
How do the CPU and GPU designs differ?
The chips use different CPU architectures and graphics processors. The Snapdragon’s CPU is Qualcomm’s custom second-generation Oryon design; the Dimensity 9300 uses Arm Cortex cores.

| CPU configuration | Custom second-generation Oryon CPU. NanoReview lists 2 cores up to 4.32 GHz and 6 up to 3.53 GHz. | 4 Cortex-X4 cores up to 3.25 GHz and 4 Cortex-A720 cores up to 2.0 GHz, according to MediaTek’s specification. |
| GPU | Adreno 830, as listed by 91mobiles. | Immortalis-G720 MC12; MediaTek describes it as a 12-core ray-tracing GPU. |
| Process | 3 nm, as reported by 91mobiles and NanoReview. | 4 nm, as reported by 91mobiles and NanoReview; MediaTek specifies TSMC 4 nm production. |
| Memory support | LPDDR5X, as listed by 91mobiles. | MediaTek specifies LPDDR5T support up to 9600 Mbps; 91mobiles lists LPDDR5X. |
| Release month | October 2024, according to 91mobiles. | November 2023, according to 91mobiles. |
Specifications describe chip capabilities, not necessarily what a particular handset implements. For example, support for LPDDR5T up to 9600 Mbps does not establish that every Dimensity 9300 phone uses memory at that maximum. Likewise, a process-node label or GPU clock is not a direct measure of a phone’s efficiency or game performance.
Qualcomm’s October 21, 2024 announcement describes its generational comparisons against Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 using Geekbench 6.2, Speedometer, and AnTuTu CPU. Those are Qualcomm’s stated methods for a different comparison, not Snapdragon 8 Elite versus Dimensity 9300 results. MediaTek calls the Dimensity 9300 an “all-big-core” design; its performance-gain claims use the previous Dimensity generation as the baseline.

What do the scores mean for gaming and battery life?
The posted scores favor Snapdragon 8 Elite for the CPU and overall benchmark comparisons shown, but they do not establish a precise real-world performance advantage. Neither cited comparison provides a matched-phone test of sustained gaming, heat, or battery drain.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsGaming depends on more than the GPU model: the phone’s cooling system, firmware, power policy, display resolution, and the game’s optimization can change frame rates and how long performance is sustained. Battery life also depends on the whole device and its use, so a benchmark score alone cannot tell you which handset will last longer.

How should you choose between phones using these chips?
Choose between exact phone models, not chipset names in isolation. The 91mobiles comparison lists Samsung Galaxy S25-series examples with Snapdragon 8 Elite and vivo X100-series examples with Dimensity 9300, but model availability and configurations can vary by region. Confirm the exact version before buying.

- Compare sustained performance and heat tests for the specific models, especially if you play demanding games.
- Check battery capacity and independent battery results for your typical use rather than inferring battery life from a chip benchmark.
- Compare the phone’s memory and storage configuration; chip support does not guarantee a particular configuration in every handset.
- Factor in software support, camera and display needs, and current handset price. The benchmark comparisons do not establish current value or resolve these phone-level differences.
