In the reported benchmark comparisons, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 test phones score higher than the iPhone 16 Pro with Apple A18 Pro—but the results do not prove that Snapdragon is universally faster. Scores come from different phones and test contexts, and Geekbench results vary even among Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 handsets. Treat the numbers as evidence about the tested devices, not a controlled measurement of the chips alone.

Geekbench Browser results show device-to-device variation
Geekbench Browser lists an iPhone 16 Pro with A18 Pro at 7,801 Geekbench 6 multi-core. Its Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 listings include an iQOO 15 at 8,733 and a OnePlus 15 at 7,623. These are device benchmark observations in the database, accessed in 2026—not a manufacturer-published statistical study. The spread between the two Snapdragon phone results is a useful reminder that a chip name does not guarantee one fixed score.

A separate comparison uses a leaked Snapdragon result
Beebom reports a separate Geekbench 6 comparison: 3,831 single-core and 11,525 multi-core for a Snapdragon result from a leaked Xiaomi 17 Pro listing, versus 3,467 and 8,550 for A18 Pro. Beebom labels the Snapdragon result as leaked. It is a different comparison from 91mobiles’ tested-device results, so the figures should not be merged into one controlled benchmark set. The page’s publication year is not stated in the retrieved content.

What the results say about speed
The available readings favor Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in these particular comparisons: 91mobiles reports higher Geekbench single-core, multi-core, and AnTuTu results for its Snapdragon test device, while the Geekbench Browser’s listed iQOO 15 multi-core result is also above the iPhone 16 Pro’s. But the OnePlus 15’s listed multi-core result is below the iPhone 16 Pro’s. Different handsets and test contexts prevent a universal chip-versus-chip conclusion.

- Single-core: Useful for comparing workloads that rely heavily on one CPU core, but these figures are still tied to the test phone and benchmark conditions.
- Multi-core: Reflects workloads using multiple CPU cores; device results vary even among phones carrying the same Snapdragon platform.
- AnTuTu: 91mobiles reports a higher aggregate score for its Snapdragon test device, but that result is not a same-phone cross-platform test.
Graphics and gaming: what can—and cannot—be concluded
Qualcomm documents Adreno graphics capabilities, including Unreal Engine 5 optimizations and Vulkan 1.3 support. Those are vendor-stated platform features, not proof of a gaming advantage over A18 Pro. The available comparisons do not provide a matched cross-platform game test, an equivalent graphics benchmark, or sustained-load measurements for the two chips.
For gaming, a useful comparison would need the same game or matched graphics workload, comparable settings and frame-rate targets, and testing long enough to reveal thermal behavior. The phone’s cooling design and configuration also matter. The listed results do not establish which chip sustains higher frame rates, runs cooler, or uses less power.

Which phone should you choose?
Choose between actual phone models rather than processor names alone. The listed OnePlus 15 and iPhone 16 Pro are examples of phones Geekbench associates with these platforms; benchmark database entries do not settle which is the better purchase. Compare the features that affect your daily use:
