The Dimensity 7400X is the newer platform and leads the available published AnTuTu comparison, while its specifications also list newer wireless capabilities. That does not make it a guaranteed faster choice in every phone: cooling, power limits, software and the complete handset affect real-world results. Compare the phones you can actually buy, not just their chipset names.
How the Snapdragon 778G Plus and Dimensity 7400X differ
Manufacturer specifications describe what each platform can support, not necessarily what a phone maker enables in a particular device. Qualcomm lists the Snapdragon 778G Plus as a 6 nm platform with a Kryo 670 CPU and Adreno 642L GPU. MediaTek describes the Dimensity 7400X as a 4 nm-class chip with Arm CPU cores and Mali graphics.

| Specification | Snapdragon 778G Plus | Dimensity 7400X |
|---|---|---|
| Manufacturing process | 6 nm, per Qualcomm | 4 nm-class, per MediaTek |
| CPU | Kryo 670, up to 2.5 GHz | Four Arm Cortex-A78 cores up to 2.6 GHz, plus four Cortex-A55 cores |
| GPU | Adreno 642L | Arm Mali-G615 MC2 |
| 5G | Snapdragon X53 modem-RF; support listed for mmWave and sub-6 GHz, NSA/SA, TDD/FDD and DSS | Release 16 features, 3CC carrier aggregation and a claimed peak downlink of up to 3.27 Gbps |
| Wi-Fi and Bluetooth | Wi-Fi 6 up to 2.9 Gbps; Bluetooth 5.2 | Wi-Fi 6E; Bluetooth 5.4 |
| Other listed capabilities | Quick Charge 4+, Qualcomm AI Engine and Spectra 570L ISP | Dual-display support for flip phones, camera sensors up to 200 MP, 4K30 capture, and WFHD+ at 120 Hz or Full HD+ at 144 Hz |
The 3.27 Gbps figure is MediaTek’s platform peak claim, not a promised download speed. Actual network performance depends on the phone, carrier, coverage and supported local bands. Likewise, listed camera, display and charging capabilities do not confirm that a specific handset includes them. Check the exact regional phone model and its specifications before buying.
Which chipset is faster in benchmarks?
91mobiles lists an AnTuTu score of 676,447 for the Dimensity 7400X and 541,618 for the Snapdragon 778G Plus. Those reported figures favor the 7400X in that listing; they are not a controlled, matched-phone test establishing a universal performance margin. The page also lists 2,486 as the Snapdragon 778G Plus’s Geekbench multi-core score, but the comparison does not provide a directly paired 7400X multi-core result.

Benchmark scores vary with the handset’s cooling, power settings, software, temperature and test version. Do not combine scores from different sources as if they came from the same test. A result is most useful when both phones were tested under comparable conditions with the same benchmark version.
What real phones tell you—and what they cannot
PhoneArena’s performance table associates the Motorola Razr (2025) with the Dimensity 7400X and the Nothing Phone (1) with the Snapdragon 778G+. Gadgets 360’s comparison lists the Motorola Razr 60 with the Dimensity 7400X and the Honor 70 with the Snapdragon 778G Plus. These examples help identify devices using each chip, but comparing different phones cannot isolate the chipset’s contribution to performance. Availability and configurations can also vary by market; check the exact model sold in your region.
MediaTek says the Dimensity 7400X “provides exclusive dual display support for flip phones.” This is a vendor statement about platform capability, not a guarantee that every phone using the chip has two displays.

How to choose between phones using these chips
If you are deciding between two actual handsets, compare the factors that determine the experience you will get:
- Sustained performance: Look for comparable tests of the specific phones, especially under longer CPU or GPU workloads. Peak clock speed alone does not tell you how performance holds up within a handset’s thermal and power limits.
- Network compatibility: Confirm that the exact model supports your carrier’s bands and the relevant local 5G network features.
- Everyday hardware: Compare display, battery endurance, charging implementation, camera hardware, storage and memory configuration.
- Support and ownership: Check the phone’s Android version, security-update commitment, warranty, build and current price.
- Comparable benchmarks: Give scores more weight only when the device, test version and conditions match.
