Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 is the stronger choice for performance, especially graphics, based on the benchmark comparisons available. It also has a higher listed peak CPU clock and a faster theoretical cellular download maximum. Those differences do not guarantee that every 7 Gen 3 phone will outperform every 7s Gen 2 phone: benchmark results vary by handset and test, and no matched-phone sustained gaming or battery comparison is established here.
Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 vs 7s Gen 2 at a glance
| Specification or result | Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 | Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 |
|---|---|---|
| Manufacturing process | 4 nm, according to Qualcomm | 4 nm, according to Qualcomm |
| Peak CPU clock | Up to 2.63 GHz, according to Qualcomm | Up to 2.4 GHz, according to Qualcomm |
| GPU name | Adreno 720, identified by NanoReview | Adreno 710, identified by NanoReview |
| 5G modem and peak download | X63; up to 5 Gbps, according to Qualcomm | X62; up to 2.9 Gbps, according to Qualcomm |
| AnTuTu 11, NanoReview | 1,027,925 | 798,429 |
| Geekbench 6 single-core, NanoReview | 1,131 | 1,015 |
| Geekbench 6 multi-core, NanoReview | 3,111 | 2,687 |
| 3DMark Wild Life Extreme, NanoReview | 1,596 | 792 |
Qualcomm lists both chips as 4 nm, but a shared process label does not mean they have equal performance or efficiency. The comparison’s broad pattern favors the 7 Gen 3; the clearest gap in the listed results is graphics performance.

CPU and overall scores
In NanoReview’s comparison, the 7 Gen 3 leads in Geekbench 6 single-core and multi-core scores, as well as AnTuTu 11. These tests measure different things: Geekbench reports CPU workloads, while AnTuTu combines multiple parts of a device. AnTuTu should not be read as a pure CPU score.

Its AnTuTu results are 1,077,869 for the 7 Gen 3 and 851,360 for the 7s Gen 2. Its Geekbench single-core and multi-core results are 1,172 and 3,235 for the 7 Gen 3, compared with 1,025 and 2,951 for the 7s Gen 2. Differences between publishers can reflect test versions, tested phones, and aggregation methods; the results are not fixed scores every handset will achieve.

Graphics performance
The largest gap in NanoReview’s listed results is in 3DMark Wild Life Extreme: 1,596 for the 7 Gen 3 versus 792 for the 7s Gen 2. Its Steel Nomad Light results are 490 and 254, respectively. These are compiled device-sample results, not a promise of equivalent performance in every phone.
Not every workload follows the same ranking. NanoReview lists PCMark 3.0 totals of 12,486 for the 7 Gen 3 and 12,964 for the 7s Gen 2, with different phone sample counts. Synthetic scores are useful for comparing results within a test, but they cannot establish that one chipset is faster at every task or predict how a particular phone behaves during long gaming sessions.
Modem and connectivity differences
Qualcomm lists an X63 modem and peak download speeds up to 5 Gbps for the 7 Gen 3, compared with an X62 modem and up to 2.9 Gbps for the 7s Gen 2. These are theoretical platform maxima, not expected everyday speeds. Actual connectivity depends on the handset’s implementation, supported bands, carrier, network conditions, and region.
Qualcomm lists 5G mmWave and sub-6 GHz support for both platforms. Its 7s Gen 2 specifications also name FastConnect 6700 and Wi-Fi 6E. Check the complete specifications for the specific phone sold in your region rather than assuming that every platform capability is enabled in every handset.

In its November 17, 2023 announcement, Qualcomm said the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 offers peak CPU speeds up to 2.63 GHz, over 50% faster GPU performance, and 60% improved AI performance per watt. These are Qualcomm’s launch claims for the 7 Gen 3, not direct benchmark measurements against the 7s Gen 2. They should not be treated as a guaranteed difference between two retail phones.
Which one should you choose?
Choose a 7 Gen 3 phone for performance headroom
If gaming and graphics performance are priorities, the 7 Gen 3 is the more compelling platform when the phones being considered are otherwise comparable and similarly priced. Its higher scores in the cited graphics comparisons support that preference, but a chipset alone cannot tell you how well a phone sustains performance under load.
Compare whole phones for everyday use
For browsing, messaging, video, and other routine tasks, these results do not establish that every user will notice a meaningful difference. Compare the actual phone models and their prices in your region. Consider cooling and sustained-load reviews, battery life, RAM, display, software support, camera implementation, and network-band support alongside the processor.
For example, 91mobiles lists the vivo V50 among phones powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3. That is an example of a handset using the platform, not a matched comparison with a 7s Gen 2 phone or a claim that it is the best option; availability and configurations can vary by market.
