Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteSnapdragon 6s Gen 3 is the stronger pick for CPU performance and 5G connectivity; Helio G99 is a capable 4G platform. Published benchmark comparisons favor Snapdragon, particularly in single-core scores, but they do not establish how two matched phones perform under identical conditions. For gaming and everyday use, the exact handset’s cooling, screen, battery, software and price still matter.
Key specifications at a glance

| Mobile network | Snapdragon X51 5G modem-RF system; Qualcomm lists peak download speeds up to 2.5 Gbps. Qualcomm | 4G platform; a comparison listing specifies LTE Cat 13. MediaTek NanoReview |
| Memory and storage | Comparison listings include LPDDR4X memory and UFS 2.2 storage; phone makers determine the actual configuration. 91Mobiles | LPDDR4X up to 2,133 MHz and UFS 2.2-class storage support. MediaTek |
| Source-reported announcement date | June 2024. 91Mobiles | May 2022. NanoReview |
These are platform specifications, not guarantees about a particular phone. In particular, a 6 nm process label does not establish battery life, and Qualcomm’s peak modem figure is not a promise of everyday download speed.

Which processor is faster?
The available synthetic benchmark comparisons favor Snapdragon 6s Gen 3. Its newer performance-core configuration—Cortex-A78 cores up to 2.3 GHz versus Helio G99’s Cortex-A76 cores up to 2.2 GHz—fits the direction of the published CPU results. The size of the lead depends on the benchmark source and version.

| Geekbench 6 multi-core average | 2,183 (6 tests) | 2,047 (82 tests) |

NanoReview’s results are database averages with uneven sample counts, not a guarantee for every phone. They should be read separately from 91Mobiles’ figures: benchmark versions and datasets differ, so the totals are not directly interchangeable. See NanoReview’s comparison data.
Neither comparison establishes a controlled test of retail phones running the same software, under the same thermal and battery conditions. Treat the scores as evidence of a general CPU advantage in the cited comparisons, not as a precise prediction of how a specific pair of phones will feel.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Does Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 have better gaming performance?
The evidence is not strong enough to declare a universal gaming winner. The chips use different GPU families—Adreno 619 for Snapdragon and Mali-G57 MC2 for Helio G99—and 91Mobiles lists a higher GPU clock for the G99. Clock speed alone does not tell you which GPU will render a game faster or more smoothly.
NanoReview’s game-FPS figures concern a G99 device, not a matched comparison against a Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 phone. The page cautions that results vary with game version, operating system and other factors. A phone’s cooling, performance tuning and screen resolution can also affect sustained play. Compare reviews or tests of the exact phone models and games you care about rather than relying on a chipset label or one FPS figure. NanoReview’s G99 data and caveat.
Does Helio G99 support 5G?
No. MediaTek identifies Helio G99 as a 4G platform. Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 includes Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X51 5G modem-RF system, making it the choice between these two if you need a 5G-capable platform. MediaTek Helio G99 Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 3.
That does not guarantee every Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 phone supports every 5G band or works on every carrier. Check the exact model variant and regional band support before buying. The listed peak download speed of up to 2.5 Gbps is a platform specification, not a typical speed expectation.
What phone features depend on the manufacturer?
A chipset’s capability list describes options a phone maker may use, not features present in every device.

Quick Recap
How to choose between phones using these chips
- Start with network needs. If you need 5G, Helio G99 is not suitable; for either phone, confirm local bands and the exact regional model.
- Match performance to your workload. The cited CPU comparisons favor Snapdragon 6s Gen 3. For demanding games, look for testing on the specific handset, since these sources do not provide a matched gaming comparison.
- Compare the complete specifications. Check display, battery, camera hardware, memory and storage configuration, charging, and the phone maker’s software-support policy.
- Check local price and availability. Comparison listings include Moto G85 among Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 phones and several Samsung Galaxy A, F and M models among G99 phones. These are examples, not endorsements; phone-family chipsets can vary by region, so verify the exact SKU and current listing. 91Mobiles’ device examples.
