The Snapdragon 665 is an older LTE platform with a Kryo 260 CPU rated up to 2 GHz. CPU-Monkey’s comparison also reports higher Geekbench averages for the 6s Gen 3, but those are pooled results—not a controlled test of two otherwise identical phones.
Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 vs Snapdragon 665: specifications
Qualcomm’s platform specifications distinguish the chips in CPU frequency, modem capability and charging support. The GPU information is less directly comparable: Qualcomm names the Adreno 610 for the 665, while the surfaced 6s Gen 3 product specifications identify an Adreno GPU without giving a specific model.

Qualcomm’s 6 Series comparison lists the Snapdragon 665 at 14 nm, while the individual Snapdragon 665 page describes it as built in 11 nm. Those official materials conflict, so neither figure should be presented as an uncontested value. Qualcomm lists the 6s Gen 3 at 6 nm. A process-node label is a platform specification, not a standalone guarantee of a phone’s speed, battery life or heat.

Geekbench benchmark comparison
CPU-Monkey’s comparison, last updated August 5, 2026, reports higher average Geekbench CPU scores for the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 in all four listed results:
| Benchmark | Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 | Snapdragon 665 |
|---|---|---|
| Geekbench 6 single-core | 935 | 334 |
| Geekbench 6 multi-core | 2,290 | 1,170 |
| Geekbench 5 single-core | 700 | 306 |
| Geekbench 5 multi-core | 2,160 | 1,254 |
These are CPU-Monkey’s source-reported averages, not results from a matched-phone laboratory test. The comparison displays 1,989 Geekbench 6 single-core entries and 1,927 multi-core entries across its comparison data; it does not establish that both chips were tested in identical phones or under the same device-level conditions. Which processor is faster?
For CPU performance, the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 is the stronger choice on the evidence available: Qualcomm specifies a higher maximum CPU frequency, and CPU-Monkey reports higher Geekbench 5 and 6 averages. That makes it the more modern platform on paper and the better fit if you are choosing between otherwise comparable phones and want higher CPU benchmark performance.

That CPU comparison does not settle graphics performance or gaming. The available benchmark figures are CPU scores, and Qualcomm’s surfaced specifications do not provide a directly comparable GPU model for both chips. Phone cooling, software, memory and display can also affect how a game runs, so these data do not justify a precise gaming or GPU-performance percentage.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.5G, LTE and real-world phone differences
The 6s Gen 3’s X51 modem supports 5G; the 665’s X12 modem is for LTE. That is a meaningful platform-level difference if 5G access matters to you. It does not, by itself, confirm that a particular handset will work on a specific carrier: the phone’s regional configuration and supported network bands determine actual compatibility.
A chipset name also cannot tell you the whole phone’s battery life, thermal behavior, camera implementation or software support. When comparing handsets, check their memory, storage, display, cooling, battery, software update policy, regional bands and price alongside the processor. Qualcomm’s specifications describe the platform, not the complete experience of a particular device.
Quick Recap
Which one should you choose?
- Choose a phone with the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 if you want the newer platform’s 5G capability and higher reported CPU benchmark averages. Confirm the specific phone’s network bands and full hardware configuration before deciding.
- Consider a Snapdragon 665 phone only in context if you are evaluating a device you already own or comparing a specific older or used handset. The chipset data alone do not establish whether that phone is a good purchase; condition, support, price and the rest of its configuration matter.
