The Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 is a mid-tier smartphone platform announced by Qualcomm on February 12, 2025. Its official brief specifies a 4 nm process and an eight-core CPU, while third-party benchmark pages show Geekbench 6 multi-core results around 3,100 points. Qualcomm’s claimed gains over the previous generation are percentage comparisons, not independently verified scores or a promise that every phone will perform identically.
What the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 specifications include
Qualcomm’s revision A product brief identifies the platform as SM6650. Its headline specifications describe processor capabilities; a phone maker decides which features and limits to implement in a particular handset.

| SIM support | Global 5G multi-SIM, including 5G/4G dual-SIM dual-active |
These are platform-level ceilings and supported technologies, not guaranteed phone features, network speeds, or camera outcomes. For example, a manufacturer may choose a lower display refresh rate, different memory configuration, or a camera system that does not use the ISP’s maximum capture capability. Qualcomm’s full feature list is in its Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 product brief.
How fast is Snapdragon 6 Gen 4?
There is no single benchmark result that applies to every Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 phone. Scores depend on the handset, software, memory configuration, cooling, test version, and test conditions. The available third-party results are samples or aggregated references from commercial devices, rather than a Qualcomm guarantee.

Qualcomm’s claimed gains over Snapdragon 6 Gen 3
Qualcomm says Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 delivers 11% improved CPU performance, up to 29% better GPU performance, and 12% power savings compared with Snapdragon 6 Gen 3. These are Qualcomm’s own comparative claims; the product brief cautions that results vary with OEM implementation and other factors. The reviewed official materials do not publish scores from a benchmark suite that independently verifies those percentages. See Qualcomm’s February 12, 2025 announcement.

What the specs mean for a phone buyer
CPU and everyday use
The three CPU clusters balance higher-priority work with efficiency cores, but core counts and peak clock speeds alone cannot predict how fast a finished phone feels. Software, memory, storage, and manufacturer tuning affect everyday responsiveness alongside the chip.

The brief names an Adreno GPU and supports contemporary graphics APIs, but does not state a GPU clock or a device-independent frame rate. Qualcomm’s up-to-29% GPU improvement is relative to Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 and should be treated as a vendor claim, not a guarantee of a particular game’s frame rate. Cooling and sustained performance in the specific phone matter.

Connectivity and media features
Support for mmWave and sub-6 GHz 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, high-refresh FHD+ displays, and HDR capture describes what device designs can build on. Actual network performance depends on the handset’s antenna and radio implementation, carrier, coverage, and conditions; camera and display results likewise depend on the components and settings the manufacturer selects.
How to compare benchmark results between phones
For a fair comparison, use the same benchmark app and version on both phones. Check the test conditions and compare devices with similar cooling and memory configurations; a short peak score may not represent sustained performance during a long gaming session. Also account for each handset’s software build and price. A processor brief cannot establish the overall value of a complete phone.
Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 was announced for mid-tier phones, with Qualcomm saying at launch that devices from realme, OPPO, and Honor were expected in the coming months. The announcement is a launch-era statement, not a current availability list. Phone models and configurations can vary by market, so verify the exact regional handset specification before buying.
