Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteOn paper, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 is clearly the stronger chip. Qualcomm lists it with 5G on a 4 nm process, while a secondary database describes the Helio G36 as an eight-core Cortex-A53 part on 12 nm. A third-party comparison page also reports an AnTuTu 10 score roughly three times higher for the Snapdragon. Those figures describe chips, not phones, so treat them as a guide and not a verdict on any one handset.
Specifications side by side
The two columns come from different kinds of sources. Qualcomm’s own product page covers the Snapdragon. The Helio G36 details come from NanoReview, a secondary database, because MediaTek’s official product page was not among the sources available for this comparison.

Connectivity and platform generation
The most practical gap is the Snapdragon’s 5G modem system alongside LPDDR5 memory support and a 120 FPS display ceiling. The Helio G36 sits in the entry-level tier in the cited listing. If 5G matters where you live, check that the specific phone and your carrier’s bands support it.

Process node
A 4 nm chip is generally expected to be more efficient than a 12 nm one. But the node number alone does not guarantee longer battery life. Battery capacity, display, software tuning and workload all matter more once the chip is inside a phone.
CPU and GPU
The Helio G36 uses eight small Cortex-A53 cores, an older efficiency-oriented design. Qualcomm describes the Snapdragon as a Kryo CPU peaking at 2.3 GHz. Clock speed alone is close between the two (2.3 GHz against 2.2 GHz), so the architecture and GPU matter more than the headline frequency.

Benchmark comparison
TopCPU’s comparison page, dated December 2025, reports the following:
| Metric (as reported by TopCPU) | Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 | Helio G36 |
|---|---|---|
| AnTuTu 10 | 463,277 | 154,460 |
| Memory bandwidth | 25.6 GB/s | 13.9 GB/s |
| Max listed frequency | 2.3 GHz | 2.2 GHz |
On those numbers the Snapdragon scores about three times as high in AnTuTu 10. These are a third-party page’s figures, not results from a controlled same-lab test, and not verified against AnTuTu’s own publication. Scores vary with the device, memory configuration, software and thermals, so the ratio shows the direction and rough scale of the gap, not what you will feel in every phone.

How to use this when choosing a phone
- Confirm the exact model number and market, then confirm the chipset for that variant.
- Compare RAM and storage type, since the same chip can ship with very different configurations.
- Check the manufacturer’s software update policy.
- Look at battery capacity, display type and refresh rate, and charging speed, which often shape daily use more than the SoC.
- Compare price. A Helio G36 phone can make sense on a very tight budget, but a Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 phone offers newer connectivity and much higher benchmark headroom if the price gap is small.
