Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 and MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ are closely matched mainstream 5G platforms on paper: both use an eight-core CPU layout with two cores up to 2.2 GHz and six up to 2.0 GHz. NanoReview’s displayed Geekbench 6 and total AnTuTu 11 aggregates favor Snapdragon, but they are not results from a controlled test of identical phones. MediaTek lists a higher peak 5G download capability; that is not a prediction of the speed you will get on your carrier. For a buying decision, compare the exact phones—not just their chipsets.
Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 vs Dimensity 6100 Plus: specifications
The two platforms share a similar core count and peak clock pattern, but use different CPU core designs, graphics processors and modems. The specifications below describe what each chip supports; they do not guarantee that a phone maker implements every feature.

These platform details come from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 product brief and MediaTek’s Dimensity 6100+ specifications. A supported maximum is not a promise about a particular handset: phone makers choose the panel, camera sensors, memory, storage and other components.
Which processor is faster?
In NanoReview’s live comparison, the displayed total AnTuTu 11 score and Geekbench 6 results are higher for Snapdragon 4 Gen 2. These are third-party aggregates, not a controlled comparison of two identical phones.

| Benchmark | Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 | Dimensity 6100+ |
|---|---|---|
| AnTuTu 11 total | 568,395 (17 tests) | 513,809 (16 tests) |
| Geekbench 6 single-core | 915 | 688 |
| Geekbench 6 multi-core | 2,115 | 1,900 |
| AnTuTu CPU subscore | 201,238 | 203,380 |
The score sample counts and figures are those shown on NanoReview’s comparison page, accessed in 2026; the live page and its samples may change. Its AnTuTu CPU subscore is slightly higher for Dimensity even though Snapdragon leads in the total AnTuTu score and both displayed Geekbench 6 measures. The results point in different directions depending on the measure, so they should not be treated as a universal speed ranking.
Which is better for gaming?
The available benchmark figures do not establish which chip delivers better gaming. Qualcomm identifies an Adreno GPU, while MediaTek specifies Mali-G57 MC2, but GPU names alone do not show how a specific phone performs in a game.
Game performance depends on the handset’s cooling, power tuning, software, display resolution and the game’s settings. For a meaningful comparison, look for tests of the exact phone models using the same game, graphics settings and session length, including sustained performance rather than only a short run.

Which has better 5G speed?
MediaTek lists up to 3.3 Gbps peak download for Dimensity 6100+, compared with Qualcomm’s up to 2.5 Gbps downlink and 900 Mbps uplink for Snapdragon 4 Gen 2. These are vendor-stated platform maxima, not real-world head-to-head results. Actual reception and speed depend on the phone’s supported bands, carrier, network conditions, carrier aggregation and handset design.
MediaTek says the Dimensity 6100+ supports up to 140 MHz 2CC 5G carrier aggregation and claims 13–30% greater power efficiency than competitor alternatives in common 5G sub-6 GHz connectivity scenarios. Those are MediaTek claims, not independent comparative test results. Its 2023 launch announcement attributes this statement to CH Chen, Deputy General Manager of MediaTek’s Wireless Communications Business Unit: “The Dimensity 6100+ integrates an enhanced 5G modem supporting 3GPP Release 16 standard with up to 140MHz 2CC 5G Carrier Aggregation, significantly reducing power consumption contributed by MediaTek UltraSave 3.0+ technology.”
Which phone should you buy?
Neither chipset alone identifies the better phone. Compare the exact models available in your region and weigh the parts of the experience that matter to you:
Quick Recap
- Performance: Seek sustained tests of the actual phones, since cooling and power settings affect results.
- Gaming: Compare the same games at equivalent settings and resolutions, not just the GPU names.
- Battery: Look for comparable phone-level battery tests; the chipset specifications do not establish which handset lasts longer.
- 5G: Check the model’s supported bands and carrier aggregation against your carrier and region.
- Memory and storage: Verify the configuration in the specific handset listing; chip support does not guarantee what the manufacturer included.
- Screen and cameras: Compare the actual panel and camera implementation. Supported resolution or megapixel limits do not determine image quality.
- Software and value: Consider software support, price and availability for the exact model before choosing.
