Helio G81 is a 4G platform in MediaTek’s specifications. Those differences do not guarantee that one phone will be faster or better value: handset design, software, cooling, network bands, and price matter.
Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 vs Helio G81: key differences
| Specification | Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 | Helio G81 |
|---|---|---|
| Manufacturing process | 6 nm, according to Qualcomm | Not stated on the MediaTek product page |
| CPU | Kryo CPU, up to 2 GHz, according to Qualcomm; NanoReview identifies two Cortex-A78 and six Cortex-A55 cores | Two Arm Cortex-A75 cores and six Cortex-A55 cores, according to MediaTek |
| GPU | Adreno GPU; equivalent model or clock speed not stated on Qualcomm’s product page | Arm Mali-G52 MC2, up to 820 MHz, according to MediaTek |
| Cellular connectivity | Snapdragon X51 5G Modem-RF System with sub-6 GHz 5G, according to Qualcomm | 4G technologies, including dual 4G VoLTE, according to MediaTek |
| Wi-Fi and Bluetooth | Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2, according to Qualcomm | Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0, according to MediaTek |
| Memory and storage | Not stated in the cited Qualcomm specifications | LPDDR4x memory up to 8 GB and eMMC 5.1 storage, according to MediaTek |
The table reflects platform specifications, not a guarantee that every phone using a chip implements every feature. Qualcomm’s listed capabilities include FHD+ display support up to 120 fps, dual-frequency L1/L5 GNSS, NFC, and Quick Charge 4+. MediaTek lists a maximum display resolution of 2520 × 1080 and HyperEngine features for Helio G81. Phone makers determine device configuration, including supported network bands, displays, and charging behavior.

What the benchmark comparison reports
NanoReview’s comparison page reports the following figures for the two processors. These are page-reported results, not official scores from Qualcomm or MediaTek, and the comparison material does not identify the exact test phones or establish controlled test conditions.
| NanoReview test | Helio G81 | Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 |
|---|---|---|
| AnTuTu 10 total | 258,706 | 414,923 |
| Geekbench 6 single-core | 420 | 837 |
| Geekbench 6 multi-core | 1,391 | 1,875 |
| 3DMark Wild Life | No result available in this comparison | 1,039; 6 fps; 99% stability |
The missing Helio G81 Wild Life entry is unavailable data, not a score of zero or proof that the chip loses that test. Benchmark results can vary with the phone, firmware, cooling, memory configuration, and test version. The figures do not establish how long either phone can sustain performance in a game, how much battery it uses, or how quickly it feels in everyday tasks.

CPU and graphics: what the specs tell you
Both chips are described as eight-core CPUs, but their performance-core designs differ. MediaTek specifies two Cortex-A75 cores plus six Cortex-A55 cores for Helio G81. Qualcomm describes Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 as a Kryo CPU clocked up to 2 GHz; NanoReview’s comparison identifies its layout as two Cortex-A78 cores plus six Cortex-A55 cores. These architecture details help explain the benchmark snapshot, but do not replace testing the actual phones.
MediaTek specifies the Helio G81’s Mali-G52 MC2 graphics at up to 820 MHz. Qualcomm identifies an Adreno GPU for Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 but does not provide an equivalent GPU model and clock in the cited product specifications. Qualcomm’s product page also claims up to 15% CPU and 10% GPU improvement over the previous generation; those are Qualcomm’s own generational comparisons, not direct measurements against Helio G81.

Connectivity: the practical platform-level distinction
Qualcomm lists a Snapdragon X51 modem with sub-6 GHz 5G for Snapdragon 4 Gen 1. MediaTek’s Helio G81 specifications list 4G cellular technologies. On paper, Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 is the relevant option between these two if 5G is a requirement.
A chip’s modem capability does not confirm that a particular handset supports the bands used by your carrier or market. Check the exact phone model and regional variant before buying; the manufacturer’s device specifications are more useful for that decision than the processor name alone.

Which one should you choose?
- Choose a Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 phone for consideration if 5G support is important and you want the stronger result in NanoReview’s cited AnTuTu 10 and Geekbench 6 snapshot.
- Consider a Helio G81 phone if a 4G handset suits your needs and the individual phone offers the right price, configuration, software support, and network compatibility.
- Compare exact phones before deciding. The chip comparison does not establish a handset’s sustained gaming performance, battery life, thermal behavior, software-update policy, or value. Look for independent reviews of the specific models available where you live.
NanoReview lists the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 5G as one Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 device example. That listing is not evidence of current stock, price, or availability in a particular region.
