Identify the moving panel
Determine which panel slides, whether it moves inside or outside the fixed panel, and how many panels you want automated. The standard SmartSlydr is for an inside-moving panel arrangement. For an outside-moving panel, the manufacturer points buyers to Regal rather than the standard unit.

LycheeThings says one device can automate one panel on a three-panel door. On a four-panel door, one device automates one moving panel, while two devices can automate two moving panels. These are manufacturer FAQ statements; confirm that your door’s layout and selected configuration match before buying.

Check mounting clearance
The manufacturer FAQ describes installation with two brackets and a screwdriver, plus a corner cap attached to the moving panel. Check the mounting surface and clearance around blinds, trim, and other obstructions. LycheeThings says extender brackets are available. Its official installation-guide index separates instructions by inside- and outside-moving-panel configurations; consult the applicable current guide before installation.

LycheeThings says SmartSlydr works with its app on a stable 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network and does not require a separate hub. The product page also lists Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. This does not establish compatibility with every smart-home ecosystem; confirm support for your devices and preferred control method.

The product page says users can set the opening width from 1% to 100% in 1% increments and lists normal-mode movement speed at approximately 45 mm per second. These are vendor-stated functions and specifications.
PetPass, OneButton, and DuoButton are optional add-ons, not items to assume are included with the standard device. The product page says the system supports up to four PetPass tags and two OneButton/DuoButton controls. Consider whether you need pet-triggered access or a human-operated remote or button, and verify the current package contents before checkout. The company’s home page also describes shipping and connectivity; it currently says it ships only within the United States, but availability can change.

What the manufacturer says about safety and accessibility
LycheeThings describes a pinch-protection response: when the device detects an obstruction, it retracts and retries; if the obstruction persists, it stays open and sends an app notification.
