The configuration is programmed through Renesas configuration software, and the company says it can be reprogrammed in the end application after deployment for bug fixes or device upgrades. That makes “multi-time programmable” a functional distinction from one-time-programmable (OTP) configuration: the device is described as allowing subsequent reprogramming, not just a single initial configuration. The cited product information does not state a write-cycle endurance figure, so it should not be treated as a quantified guarantee of how many times a design can be rewritten.

These are the part-detail page’s attributes for the V-PR version, not a claim that every SLG46801 package variant has identical characteristics. Renesas’s overview also discusses a tiny WLCSP package and says the STQFN option provides more GPIOs and traditional plastic packaging. The package and resource details are not all given for each device in that comparison. When choosing among parts, also check comparator count, logic and timing resources, supply and temperature limits, package assembly needs, and whether the available programming hardware supports the package you plan to use. How to evaluate the SLG46801 with Renesas hardware
Renesas documents a dedicated SLG46801V-PR-SKT socket adapter kit. It contains an SLG4SA12MP-16×16 socket adapter and 20 SLG46801V-PR samples. The kit is intended for use with either the SLG4DVKADV GreenPAK Advanced Development Board or the SLG4DVKLITE GreenPAK Lite Development Board; it is not a standalone programming board. Renesas says the compatible boards with socket kits support programming, emulation, and testing.
