Neither host is a clear winner on the evidence available in October 2026. SiteGround publishes both introductory and renewal prices for each of its shared tiers, so you can calculate what you will pay after the first year. Network Solutions publishes its plan limits, but the shared-plan prices were not visible on the official page captured in 2026, so a price comparison with it cannot be made here. Speed and uptime are also unsettled. SiteGround’s speed figure comes from its own migration data, and Network Solutions’ 99.9% uptime is an advertised service level, not a measured result.
The right choice depends on three things: what you will pay after the first term, how many websites and how much storage you need, and whether you want managed WordPress care or a bundled domain and website package.

Short answer by situation
- SiteGround fits you if you want published prices for every tier, a single-site starter plan with a known renewal rate, and staging and on-demand backups from the middle tier up. Accept that the renewal price is several times the introductory price.
- Network Solutions deserves a closer look if you are buying a domain and SSL together, want a plan with ten websites and ten email boxes at the top tier, or already use its website products. Get the exact shared-plan price at checkout before you compare it with anything.
- Neither host should be chosen on speed or uptime claims alone. Neither provider’s speed or uptime figure has been independently compared with the other.
How the plans compare on paper
The tables below use only the plan figures each provider published on its official hosting pages. SiteGround’s prices are monthly equivalents on a 12-month prepaid term, excluding VAT, as listed on its general hosting page accessed October 7, 2026. Network Solutions’ shared-plan prices were masked on the page captured in 2026.
SiteGround shared hosting
| Plan | Introductory (per month) | Renewal (per month) | Websites | Storage | Added above the base tier |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| StartUp | $2.99 | $17.99 | 1 | 10 GB | Base feature set |
| GrowBig | $4.99 | $29.99 | Unlimited | 50 GB | On-demand backups, staging, “30% faster PHP” (provider claim) |
| GoGeek | $7.99 | $44.99 | Unlimited | 100 GB | Git, private DNS, white-label access, priority support |
Network Solutions shared hosting
| Plan | Websites | Storage | Visitors listed | Email boxes | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | 1 | 10 GB | 15K | 1 | Not stated in the captured official page (price field masked) |
| Essential | 3 | 20 GB | 50K | 3 | Not stated in the captured official page (price field masked) |
| Premium | 10 | 40 GB | 200K | 10 | Not stated in the captured official page (price field masked) |
Network Solutions lists unmetered bandwidth on all three shared plans. SiteGround’s page does not describe bandwidth in the same terms, so do not assume the two are interchangeable.

What renewal does to the bill
The first invoice is the least useful number on either provider’s pricing page. For SiteGround, the gap between introductory and renewal pricing is large. The annual figures below multiply each listed monthly equivalent by 12. They exclude any tax that applies at checkout.
| SiteGround plan | First 12-month term (introductory) | Next 12-month term (renewal) | Increase per year |
|---|---|---|---|
| StartUp | $35.88 | $215.88 | $180.00 |
| GrowBig | $59.88 | $359.88 | $300.00 |
| GoGeek | $95.88 | $539.88 | $444.00 |
Network Solutions’ managed WordPress page showed a $12.99 per month renewal rate for a one-year term. That page did not name the plan tier behind the figure or show an introductory rate, so it cannot be placed beside the SiteGround table as a like-for-like number.
SiteGround: what the plan includes beyond price
Included on every tier
SiteGround’s general hosting page lists free domain registration, daily backups, 24/7 support, SSL, CDN, email, website migration, and managed WordPress autoupdates. Check the exact registration and renewal terms for the domain at checkout, because the general page does not spell out how long the offer lasts.
Tier-specific additions
GrowBig adds on-demand backups and staging, which matter if you want to test plugin or theme changes before they reach the live site. GoGeek adds Git deployment, private DNS, white-label access for agencies that resell hosting, and priority support. Those extras are the main reason to pay the higher renewal rate; the storage difference between GrowBig and GoGeek is 50 GB.
Rank #3
WordPress tools
SiteGround’s WordPress page describes free site migration, preinstalled SSL, free daily geo-distributed backups, staging and development tools, and an AI agent. These are described on the provider’s page; the page does not describe how the AI agent is priced or what it can change on your site.
The 78% speed claim
SiteGround reports that WordPress sites migrated to its platform were on average 78% faster after migration. The figure comes from its own comparison of real websites moved from Bluehost, GoDaddy, Hostinger, and WP Engine to SiteGround-group companies between January 1 and June 30, 2025. The company measured time to first byte and Google Lighthouse Speed Index and reported medians. It is a vendor-reported before-and-after result for migrated sites, not a test against Network Solutions, and it does not tell you how a new site on either host will perform.

Network Solutions: what the plan includes beyond limits
Domain and SSL offers
The first-year domain offer on Network Solutions’ hosting page applies to one listed domain extension on qualifying annual website plans. It is not valid on renewals, so the domain cost returns to standard pricing after the first year. A one-year DV SSL offer is listed for the Essential and Premium plans only.
Auto-renewal and cancellation
The page says annual plan pricing is shown as a monthly rate billed annually. It also states the following policy: “All plans and products will automatically renew at the then current rate to the payment method on file unless canceled.” You can cancel through an account manager, by phone, or by chat. Set a calendar reminder before the renewal date, because a renewal is charged at the rate in effect at that time.
Best Value
Managed WordPress
Network Solutions’ WordPress page describes managed hosting that handles updates, security, and maintenance, and includes cloud backup. The captured content does not describe the staging, Git, or developer tools that SiteGround lists, so do not assume the two offerings include the same features.
Uptime and support claims
Network Solutions advertises a 99.9% uptime SLA, daily malware scans, and 24/7 support. The page does not show the remedy terms that apply if uptime falls short, so read the SLA document before you rely on it. These are the provider’s own claims; they are not independent measurements of uptime or response time.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to decide
- Calculate the cost of your first three years. For SiteGround, use the renewal rate for years two and three. For Network Solutions, get the renewal rate for your exact plan at checkout, since the captured page did not show it for the shared tiers.
- Count the websites you will host now and within a year. SiteGround’s StartUp tier supports one site; GrowBig and GoGeek list unlimited websites. Network Solutions’ Starter tier supports one site, Essential three, and Premium ten.
- Decide whether you need staging, Git, or on-demand backups. If you do, SiteGround’s GrowBig or GoGeek tier is the only one of the two whose listed features include them.
- Check whether a domain or SSL offer is part of the decision. If it is, confirm whether the offer applies to the plan you choose and whether it lapses at renewal.
- Compare the two checkout totals for the same term, including tax, before you choose. The comparison is only fair when both prices are for the same plan size and billing term.
What the available evidence does not establish
- No independent test has compared the speed, uptime, or support response times of these two hosts.
- The shared-plan prices on Network Solutions’ official page were not visible in the captured version, so no price winner can be named.
- The remedy terms behind Network Solutions’ 99.9% uptime SLA are not described on the captured page.
- SiteGround’s 78% figure applies only to the migrated sites measured in its 2025 comparison, not to all sites on its platform.
