Silent Hope is a Nintendo Switch action RPG built around seven playable heroes, repeat trips into a dungeon called the Abyss, and crafting at a shared base camp. Tom’s Guide writer Millie Davis-Williams called it an overlooked favorite and reported a Walmart deal near $21 in an article published October 8, 2026. That is a dated price, not a confirmed live offer—and “underrated” is her opinion, not a measured consensus.
What Silent Hope is
Marvelous Inc. developed Silent Hope, which Marvelous (XSEED) publishes. Nintendo lists the Switch release date as October 3, 2023. Its official description centers on seven heroes with distinct fighting styles, an Abyss to explore, and a base camp where characters can take on jobs such as alchemy, blacksmithing, and cooking. Nintendo lists the Switch game as single-player with a 1.9 GB file size.

Marvelous announced a physical standard edition for Switch as well as digital releases through Nintendo eShop and Steam. That confirms the formats planned at launch; it does not confirm current inventory.
How the gameplay loop works
The core rhythm is to descend into the Abyss, fight monsters and bosses, and decide whether to push farther or return to the surface. Back at camp, you can prepare through crafting and cooking before another run. The seven heroes give you different combat styles to try, and choosing among them is part of the progression loop.

Davis-Williams praised the combat and progression, describing the game as “one of the most enjoyably addictive Nintendo Switch games I’ve ever played.” That is her personal assessment, not an aggregate rating or a claim about broad player consensus. She also identified two possible sticking points: enemy encounters can feel repetitive, and managing equipment across seven characters can become burdensome.
What the $21 deal claim does—and doesn’t—tell you
The headline’s $21 figure comes from the Tom’s Guide article published October 8, 2026. In that article, the Nintendo digital version was listed at $29 and an Amazon price check at $26. Those are article-date figures, not guaranteed current prices.

A Walmart category listing indexed separately showed $21.99, reduced from $28.90, but that result was crawled three months before the research timestamp and is not a live stock or price check. Check the retailer’s listing for your region before buying, including format, seller, delivery terms, and availability. No current Walmart or Amazon listing status is established here.
Who may enjoy it—and who may not
- Consider it if you like action RPGs that encourage repeated dungeon runs, switching between distinct characters, and preparing at a home base between expeditions.
- Think twice if repeated enemy encounters or managing gear for a large roster tends to feel like busywork to you; those are the drawbacks Davis-Williams noted.
There is no cited sales figure, review-score aggregate, or market study establishing that Silent Hope is objectively one of the most overlooked Switch games. “Underrated” is best read as the writer’s enthusiastic recommendation. The available product details support describing its structure and features, not measuring its popularity.
