To get the Sci-fi ending in Silent Hill: Townfall, finish the game once, start New Game+, inspect three Strange Books, solve the hotel symbol-door puzzle in Part 2, and use the Strange Access Card at the reader near the end of Part 6. Walkthroughs report that the reader diverts you to the secret ending before the regular final-boss sequence. This route contains spoilers.
What you need before starting the route
Konami series producer Motoi Okamoto said that the three main endings can be reached on a first playthrough, while the secret ending becomes accessible after clearing the game once. That confirms the New Game+ requirement in broad terms; the specific book, card, and symbol steps below are reported by walkthroughs, not detailed in the official interview. The game calls this ending “Sci-fi”; “UFO ending” is a player-used shorthand. You need to collect the Strange Access Card in Part 2 and inspect a Strange Book in each of Parts 1, 4, and 6. The two walkthroughs below agree on the route and trigger.
Get the Strange Access Card in Part 2
Part 2, Chapter 6: “Journey to Medical”
- In the hotel, go upstairs to the door with symbol buttons.
- Enter this sequence: Bird → Tree → Planet → Bird → three-legged triangle → Satellite → Satellite → Fish → Rocket → Planet → Dog → Pillar.
- When the door opens, take the Strange Access Card from the room. The walkthroughs place it by an elephant statue.
Guides also call the three-legged triangle “Trinity,” Satellite “Sputnik,” Rocket “Spaceship,” and Pillar “Monument.” Follow the icons shown on the buttons if the names differ. One guide reports that an incorrect sequence resets the buttons rather than locking you out. PowerPyx’s all-endings guide and the Townfall Walkthrough Sci-fi and Dog guide provide the puzzle route.
#1 Best Overall
- Experienced entirely in first person, explore, evade, and survive using a limited set of weapons and tools, including a pocket television used to tune into unstable signals. Evasion is tense; combat is frenetic, while narrative driven puzzles reveal a truth that refuses to stay submerged.
- SILENT HILL: Townfall is a full-length, self-contained psychological horror set against the cold, isolated backdrop of Scotland, 1996
Inspect all three Strange Books
Part 1, Chapter 3: “A Connection”
At Zoe’s house, enter the bedroom and inspect History of Space Flight, 1952–1992 on the floor beside the bed. This is Strange Book 1.
Part 4, Chapter 10: “Missing Parts”
After the phone call with Richard, enter the store at the southwest corner of Atlas Square in Clara Woods. Inspect Freeze Me / Wake Me – Elias Fisher, on a shelf near the entrance. This is Strange Book 2.

Trigger the Sci-fi ending near the end of Part 6
Continue until you reach the red-lit corridor near the final door. Before going through the next door, use the Strange Access Card on the reader to its left. Walkthroughs report that this triggers the Sci-fi ending and bypasses the normal final-boss sequence. The official developer interview confirms the existence of a secret ending unlocked after clearing the game, but does not name it Sci-fi or document this trigger.

- Day One Edition Bonus: CRTV Style: Rusted, CRTV Style: Beach Edition
- When Simon Ordell is called back to the island of St. Amelia to "put things in order", he meets a city lying quietly in dense fog, seemingly abandoned, yet anything but dormant
- After venturing further to understand his connection to this place and its inhabitants, he gradually discovers fragments of the past rising to the surface
- Simon must explore, evade and survive from a first-person perspective. It uses a limited arsenal of weapons and tools, including the CRTV: a portable TV to receive unstable signals
- The dodging is tension, the battles are hectic and the story-based puzzles reveal a truth that does not want to remain hidden
Keep another ending route available
If you also want to continue toward the Dog ending, one walkthrough recommends making a manual save before using the card reader, then reloading after seeing the Sci-fi ending. That is guide-reported advice, not a tested guarantee. The guides describe the required books and card as missable within a run; if you miss one, they recommend loading an earlier save or attempting the route on another New Game+ playthrough.
