Spoilers for the North Brae puzzle: The guide-reported black box code is 736; after scanning the barcode from the box at CEG, enter 971 at Locker 204 to get the second Mechanical Part. The solution sequence is: read the Lamenting Poem in the second upstairs bedroom at 6 North Brae, inspect the paintings, open the black box, scan its barcode, then unlock the locker.
North Brae puzzle solution
- At 6 North Brae, go to the second upstairs bedroom. Read the Lamenting Poem and inspect the paintings.
- Enter 736 on the black box to obtain its barcode.
- Take the barcode to the CEG scanner and scan it.
- Enter 971 at Locker 204 to collect the second Mechanical Part.
The poem-and-painting connection to the box and barcode is described by the Silent Townfall puzzle archive. The codes and reward are reported in its six-chapter walkthrough and cross-checked by the Townfall Walkthrough puzzle index.

What the clues establish
The walkthrough directs players to inspect the poem and paintings, but does not provide enough intermediate clue analysis to explain how each digit is derived. The sequence above is therefore a guide-reported solution, not a digit-by-digit explanation or a result from hands-on testing.

It notes that some other game answers can vary by playthrough, but does not identify this North Brae code as variable. That is not enough to claim that every code in the game is fixed.

Where this fits in the game
The second Mechanical Part is a progression item. Later in the Clara Woods route, the mechanical discs and cylindrical part are combined at the Strange Gate, according to the independent walkthrough.
KONAMI describes SILENT HILL: Townfall as a first-person psychological horror game set on St. Amelia, a remote island off Scotland, where puzzles are closely intertwined with the story. In a PlayStation Blog interview published June 2, 2026, writer and director Jon McKellan said: “Each puzzle has been designed while writing the story, so rather than a separate, unconnected gameplay layer, they’re grounded in the world you’re exploring and contextual to it and the town’s inhabitants.” The puzzle is part of that story-linked approach; its solution is not dependent on platform-specific features.
