Spoilers for the SWDP – Different sequence: To enter the Control Room, restore power in the Generator Room, collect the JOE Key on Level 1, use it to open the JOE room, and take the Access Card from the adjoining space. Use that card at the Control Room entrance upstairs.
Restore power in the Generator Room
- Go downstairs to the Generator Room in SWDP – Different.
- Interact with the red handle to activate the generator.
- Return upstairs promptly. A large enemy appears after you turn on the power and cannot be killed; the Flare Gun can stun it temporarily if it blocks your route.
Power is needed for the elevator and Control Room access, according to NoobFeed’s September 29, 2026 walkthrough.

Find the JOE Key on Level 1
After restoring power, take the elevator to Level 1. Search the computer room at the back-right of the area and pick up the JOE Key from the table. Townfall Guide’s SWDP panel guide also places the key on a corner table in the computer room.

Get the Access Card through the JOE room
- Go to the southwest JOE door and unlock it with the JOE Key.
- Squeeze through the gap in the wall into the adjoining space.
- Take the Access Card from the counter beside the bed.
Use the card at the Control Room entrance
Return to the main area and go upstairs. Look for the Control Room entrance on the east side, near the Clamps, and use the card reader. Walkthroughs describe the landmark differently—as an east-side upper-floor door or a shutter beside the Clamps—but both direct you to use the Access Card at the Control Room entrance.
#1 Best Overall
- Experienced entirely in first person, explore, evade, and survive using a limited set of weapons and tools, including a pocket television used to tune into unstable signals. Evasion is tense; combat is frenetic, while narrative driven puzzles reveal a truth that refuses to stay submerged.
- SILENT HILL: Townfall is a full-length, self-contained psychological horror set against the cold, isolated backdrop of Scotland, 1996
What happens after you enter
Entering the room starts the “Relive the events on CCTV” objective and leads into the Remote Systems Control section. Use the visible camera feeds to read the equipment identifiers at the remote console rather than guessing. The next objectives are covered in the Silent Townfall chapter walkthrough.
