Spoilers for the ending route. Walkthroughs report that the Dog ending is a New Game Plus route, not something you can unlock simply by finding the Gold Coin. The reported sequence requires collecting and depositing the Bronze, Silver, and Gold Guide Dog coins, completing the final confrontation, then walking to Richard at the end of the pier. Make a manual save at the start of New Game Plus as a precaution; that save recommendation comes from the guides, not official instructions.
How the reported Dog ending route works
The route described by two walkthroughs has three separate parts: begin New Game Plus, collect all three coins, and deposit each coin in its matching Guide Dog bank. The ending is reported to trigger after the final confrontation when you walk to Richard at the pier. The Gold Coin is only one step in that sequence.

Bronze Coin — Part 1
In Video Star’s back room on Shorefront Road, collect the Bronze Coin. Deposit it at the Guide Dog bank on Main Street, opposite the Pharmacy.

Silver Coin — Part 4
Look for the Silver Coin on a shelf in the Clara Woods area. Its bank is at the Laundry building’s fire exit; the reported route requires opening the alley gate with Bolt Cutters before you can reach it.

Gold Coin — Part 6
In the SWDP section, find door 793 and enter the room behind it to collect the Gold Coin. Then follow the container route to the four-way split. The matching bank is reported to be in the red-lit hallway there. Finding the coin and depositing it are distinct steps.

Finish the route after making the deposits
- Confirm that you have deposited each coin at its matching Guide Dog bank.
- Complete the final confrontation.
- Walk to Richard at the end of the pier. The guides report that the Dog scene replaces the normal ending result.
What is confirmed about Townfall
KONAMI says SILENT HILL: Townfall became available on September 24, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. KONAMI identifies Screen Burn Interactive as developer and Annapurna Interactive and KONAMI as co-publishers. That official release information does not document the Dog ending’s unlock conditions or coin locations.
