Subscription apps can help you find recurring charges you have forgotten, keep a running list, and in some cases ask a provider to cancel for you. These are three different jobs, and the apps covered here handle them in very different ways. Before you connect a bank account or pay for a plan, decide which of the three you actually need.
Tracking, detecting and cancelling are separate jobs
An app that tracks subscriptions keeps a list of services, renewal dates and totals. An app that detects them scans transactions and points out charges you may not have added yourself. An app that cancels them stops the charge, or contacts the provider on your behalf. Many apps do the first job well, fewer do the second, and only some offer the third.

The gap matters. Seeing a charge on a list does not mean the app can end it. Likewise, a bank-linked app can only detect what appears in the transaction records it can access. Its vendor describes detection as something that happens after accounts are connected; it does not claim that every subscription will be found.
The apps, and what each one actually does
Rocket Money: bank-linked detection, with cancellation behind a paid tier
Rocket Money is the main bank-linked option in this group. According to its FAQ, the app identifies recurring charges after you connect your accounts. Its free tier includes subscription and recurring-bill tracking. Premium and Premium+ add features such as cancellation assistance.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The company’s own wording on cancellation is specific: “Hands‑off cancellation (where Rocket Money contacts the provider for you) is part of Premium.” Read that sentence as a description of what the paid tier provides, not as a promise that the app will cancel anything without your approval. You still choose which services to cancel. Confirm the current plan boundary on Rocket Money’s official pricing page before you sign up, since tier contents change.
Subby: manual entry, no bank connection
Subby is a manual tracker on the App Store. Its listing says you add services yourself, set renewal and trial reminders, view upcoming charges and totals, and keep subscription data on the device without linking a bank account. It also lists trial conversion dates from outside the app and configurable alerts.

The free version covers up to five subscriptions, according to the listing. The Pro upgrade removes that limit. If you have more than five services, the free version will not hold your full list.
Suby: manual entry plus screenshot import
Suby lets you enter subscriptions by hand, or import a screenshot of an app-store subscriptions page. Each row from the screenshot is shown for review before it is saved, so misread entries can be corrected. The app’s description says data stays on the device by default, and that backups are encrypted if you turn on syncing.

Those are the developer’s own statements. They have not been independently audited, so treat them as stated design, not verified security.
Bobby: a manual tracker with limited current detail
Bobby’s App Store listing confirms the app’s identity and shows app updates, but the update history visible on the page is older. Rocket Money’s 2026 comparison describes Bobby as manual tracking that does not connect to a bank. Those are the only details available on this page. Check the App Store listing for current platform support, device requirements and price before you rely on it.

Broader budgeting apps on Rocket Money’s shortlists
Rocket Money’s comparison pages name several other products: Monarch Money, YNAB, PocketGuard, Quicken Simplifi, OneMain MyMoney, TrackMySubs and Origin. They combine budgeting, bill tracking, team or business features and, in some cases, cancellation claims. Because Rocket Money publishes these comparisons and sells a competing product, treat the list as a set of names to investigate, not as a ranking. Compare each app’s own pricing and feature pages.

How to choose
Work through these questions in order. Each one narrows the field.
Best Value
- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
- Do you want the app to find charges you have forgotten? If yes, a bank-linked tool is the only type that scans transactions. If you would rather not share bank access, a manual tracker will only show what you enter, so you will need to review your statements yourself.
- Do you need the app to stop charges, or only to show them? If you need help cancelling, check whether that feature is included in the tier you are considering. Expect to pay for it on Rocket Money.
- How many subscriptions do you have? Count them before choosing a free tier. A five-subscription cap is easy to exceed if you include streaming, software and memberships.
- Which billing cycles matter? Confirm that reminders work for annual and trial charges, not only monthly ones. Subby describes trial conversion dates and alerts; the other apps’ reminder features are not stated in the pages reviewed.
- Where will your data sit? Read each app’s privacy policy and check whether syncing is optional. Treat “private” and “secure” labels as the developer’s claims.
Privacy and security claims
Local storage and no-bank-connection claims describe what a product says it does. They are not independent security certifications. If an app’s privacy approach matters to you, look for a published policy that explains how data is stored, whether it is encrypted in transit and at rest, and what happens when you cancel the app or delete your data.
Figures and quotations to avoid repeating
Rocket Money’s subscription feature page gives two different figures for subscriptions cancelled, “over 5 million” in one section and “nearly 2.5 million” in another. Neither figure has a clear measurement period or method, and they conflict on the same page. Do not quote either as a settled statistic.
No independent industry figure about how many subscriptions people forget, or how accurately detection tools find them, was established in the material reviewed. Any claim about detection accuracy should come from a specific, dated test that you can cite directly.

When describing what an app does, quote the vendor’s own wording and attribute it. A line like “Hands-off cancellation is part of Premium” is Rocket Money’s description of its product, not an outside assessment.
The Bottom Line
If you want charges found automatically and you accept bank linking, Rocket Money is the app with the most direct detection and cancellation features, but its assisted cancellation sits in a paid tier. If you prefer not to connect a bank, a manual tracker such as Subby or Suby will organise the list you build, but it will not find anything you have not entered. Confirm current prices, free limits and supported platforms on each app’s own store listing or pricing page before you commit.
