The 12 Pro+ has a higher-resolution periscope camera on paper, while the 13 Pro+ lists newer Sony sensors and a slightly longer equivalent telephoto focal length. A reliable current price difference cannot be given without checking matching configurations in the same market.
Specifications at a glance
These specifications come from realme pages for different regions: the 12 Pro+ details below are from a Middle East/Africa page, while the 13 Pro+ details include India and global listings. Treat regional software, connectivity, memory configurations and box contents as market-specific, and confirm the exact SKU sold where you live.

What changes in the cameras?
Main camera
The 12 Pro+ lists a 50MP Sony IMX890 main sensor; the 13 Pro+ lists a 50MP Sony LYT-701. Both are specified at 1/1.56-inch and include optical image stabilisation. The model name changes, but these specifications alone do not establish which phone takes better photos: megapixel count and sensor labels cannot replace matched testing across lighting, subjects and camera modes.
Periscope zoom
The 12 Pro+ has a 64MP OmniVision OV64B periscope camera, with realme’s 2024 launch announcement claiming 3× optical and 6× in-sensor zoom. The 13 Pro+ uses a 50MP Sony LYT-600 periscope camera; realme’s product material specifies 3× optical zoom. Their listed equivalent focal lengths are 71mm and 73mm respectively. These details describe different aspects of the hardware and zoom method, not a verdict on image quality.

Do not treat a digital “120X SuperZoom” label as equivalent to optical zoom. For choosing between the phones, consider whether you use the telephoto camera at its optical range, and look for reliable sample images or a head-to-head test under comparable conditions. No independently sourced matched camera test establishes a winner here.
Ultra-wide and selfie cameras
The listed headline resolutions remain the same: 8MP for the ultra-wide camera and 32MP for the selfie camera on both models. Resolution alone does not show whether image processing, detail or low-light results differ.

Performance: the chipset stays the same
Both phones specify the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, so the 13 Pro+ is not a chipset-generation upgrade over the 12 Pro+. The 12 Pro+ specification page also identifies a 4nm process and Adreno 710 graphics. The available specifications do not establish a real-world speed difference between particular RAM and storage variants, so compare the exact configurations you can buy rather than assuming the newer model is faster because of its name.
Display: similar size and refresh class
Both models are listed with a 6.7-inch display, 2412 × 1080 resolution and a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz. The 12 Pro+ page describes a curved display; the 13 Pro+ India listing specifies OLED. These are closely aligned headline specifications, but regional pages do not establish every panel characteristic or guarantee identical behaviour. Check the local variant’s product page if display technology or curvature is decisive for you.

Battery and charging: a modest paper increase
Realme lists typical battery capacity rising from 5000mAh on the 12 Pro+ to 5200mAh on the 13 Pro+. Listed charging power rises from 67W SUPERVOOC to 80W SUPERVOOC. Those are specification figures, not a guarantee of longer daily runtime or a particular charge time: usage, settings, temperature, charger and other conditions affect results. No independently sourced, matched battery or charging test figure is established here.
Price difference: compare live, like-for-like listings
A dependable current price difference is not established. Realme’s global product page notes, “Products may have different prices and availability based on market”. Third-party comparison listings have shown inconsistent prices or stock indications, while the official 12 Pro+ launch page’s price fields do not provide a usable figure. A launch price, an old listing or a sale price in another country is not a sound basis for a current comparison.

To work out the difference that applies to you, check both phones on the same date and in the same country. Match RAM and storage, and compare the same kind of seller and warranty. Record whether each amount is a current sale price or a regular listed price, and confirm stock and the country version before deciding. If a like-for-like listing for either model is unavailable, the price gap cannot be calculated fairly.

The specifications above combine a Middle East/Africa listing for the 12 Pro+ with India and global material for the 13 Pro+. For example, realme’s India page lists the 13 Pro+ with Android 14-based realme UI 5.0, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and no NFC. Do not assume those details apply to every country version; check the local product page and exact SKU for software, network bands, NFC, memory options and included accessories.

Realme lists IP65 for the 13 Pro+ and describes it as splash-proof and dust-resistant under normal use, with testing under controlled laboratory conditions against IEC 60529:2013. The company cautions that resistance is not permanent and may diminish with normal wear; liquid damage is not covered by warranty. This is not a waterproof rating or an assurance that the phone can be immersed. See realme’s 13 Pro+ product page for its qualification.
Quick Recap
Which phone makes more sense?
- Consider the 12 Pro+ if its local price is substantially lower and you value the listed 64MP periscope sensor and its stated 6× in-sensor zoom. Those specifications do not, by themselves, prove better photos.
- Consider the 13 Pro+ if you want the newer listed camera sensors, 200mAh more typical battery capacity and 80W rather than 67W charging, and the local price and configuration suit you.
- Do not choose solely for a supposed performance leap: both use Snapdragon 7s Gen 2.
- Before paying, confirm your country version, RAM/storage tier, warranty, seller, stock and included box contents. The 13 Pro+ India box list includes a case, screen-protect film, cable and 80W adapter; check the actual seller’s listing rather than assuming every market’s box is identical.
