It is not an automatic upgrade for every Pixel owner: Google lists the US starting price at $899, and one review’s tests show no clear battery or speed advantage over every competitor. If your current phone still works well, compare the total price and the features you would actually use before buying.
What the Pixel 11 offers
Google announced the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, and Pixel 11 Pro XL on August 12, 2026; the company said the series was available through the Google Store and retail partners on August 25. The base Pixel 11 is a current phone, not an unreleased model. Google’s US specifications page lists it from $899 before eligible trade-in offers. That is a US price, not a universal regional price or a promise that no sale is available. Google’s announcement and its US specifications page provide the launch and product details.

Display, chip, and storage
The base model has a 6.3-inch Actua OLED display with 1080 x 2424 resolution and a 60–120 Hz refresh rate. Google lists its processor as Tensor G6, with a Titan M3 security coprocessor, 12 GB of RAM, and either 256 GB or 512 GB of storage. These specifications make it a relatively compact option in the lineup, but the cited information does not establish how the display compares in brightness or durability with every competing phone.
Three rear cameras
Google lists a 48 MP wide camera with Macro Focus, a 13 MP ultrawide camera, and a 10.8 MP 5x telephoto camera. Super Zoom is listed up to 30x. Those are manufacturer specifications, not proof that the Pixel 11 takes better photographs than alternatives in all conditions. Google says the camera bar is 40% thinner than the previous design; that is also a manufacturer comparison.
#1 Best Overall
- Google Pixel’s iconic design meets the latest evolution of the Pixel Camera on the new Pixel 11; Gemini Intelligence helps manage details so you can stay perfectly present[1]
- Unlocked Android phone gives you the flexibility to change carriers and choose your own data plan: Works with Google Fi, Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, and other major carriers[2]
- Sleek, solid, and built to last: Pixel 11 has the slimmest camera bar yet in its class, a smooth satin back, and ultra-durable glass and IP68 water and dust protection, so it’s intentionally built to stay strong for years[3,4]
- Long battery life: With 30+ hours of reliable power and upgraded wireless charging, your Google Pixel 11 can charge 25% faster than before[5,6]; it even powers up to 55% in about 30 minutes with ultra-fast wired charging[7]
- The latest evolution of the Google Pixel Camera: Take super crisp closeups with an upgraded 30x Super Zoom[3]; Night Sight takes clear photos, portraits, and panos in low-light settings
Battery and charging
Google lists a typical battery capacity of 4,985 mAh and describes battery life as “30+ hours.” The company says wired fast charging can reach about 55% in 30 minutes when using a 30W USB-C PPS charger or higher, sold separately. Qi2.2 Pixelsnap wireless charging is listed up to 25W. Actual battery life and charging results depend on use and equipment; Google’s battery-life figure is a product claim, not an independent test result.
Is it a worthwhile upgrade?
That depends on what you are replacing. If your current phone is slow, damaged, short on storage, or missing a telephoto camera you want, the Pixel 11 offers a specific mix of compact size, three rear cameras, and current Google hardware. If a recent phone already meets your needs, the available evidence does not show a reason every owner should replace it immediately at full price.
Rank #2

- Unlocked Android phone gives you the flexibility to change carriers and choose your own data plan: Works with Google Fi, Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, and other major carriers[2]
- Stay informed without looking at your screen: When your phone is face down, Pixel HiLight gently alerts you with subtle glowing lights when your favorite contacts are calling or you’re talking with Gemini; exclusive to Google Pixel 11 Pro phones

If you have a Pixel 10
Tom’s Guide reported Geekbench 6 scores of 2,664 single-core and 7,347 multi-core for its Pixel 11 test, versus 2,345 and 6,581 for its Pixel 10 test. That is a gain in that publication’s benchmark results, but its battery test recorded 12 hours 45 minutes for Pixel 11 and 13 hours 13 minutes for Pixel 10. The figures come from one outlet’s tests and are not a guarantee of results on your device. They do not by themselves make the case for an upgrade if your Pixel 10 is working well. Tom’s Guide’s Pixel 11 review describes its test results and everyday-use impressions.
If you have an older or failing phone
A broken screen, weak battery, or performance problem can make a replacement worthwhile even when a new model is not a dramatic leap over its immediate predecessor. Consider whether you will use the Pixel 11’s 5x telephoto camera, whether 256 GB is sufficient, and whether its size suits you. Compare the purchase price after any eligible trade-in offer with the cost of repairing your current phone or buying another model; no repair-cost comparison is established here.

How its performance and battery compare
In Tom’s Guide’s Geekbench 6 results, the Pixel 11 scored 2,664 single-core and 7,347 multi-core. In the same publication’s comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S26 scored 3,531 and 10,778, while the iPhone 17 scored 3,701 and 9,460. Tom’s Guide described ordinary navigation and on-device AI use as fluid, while noting the Pixel trailed those named rivals in its benchmarks. These are results from that review, not a universal ranking across all testing conditions.
Tom’s Guide’s battery test recorded 12:45 for Pixel 11, 13:13 for Pixel 10, 11:28 for Galaxy S26, and 12:47 for iPhone 17. This single test put Pixel 11 nearly level with iPhone 17, below Pixel 10, and above Galaxy S26. Do not treat those runtimes as a prediction of your own day: test methodology and individual usage affect battery results.

Pixel 11 or Pixel 11 Pro?
Google’s US launch prices were $899 for Pixel 11, $1,099 for Pixel 11 Pro, $1,299 for Pixel 11 Pro XL, and $1,899 for Pixel 11 Pro Fold. These are launch starting prices in US dollars, not guaranteed current prices or prices for every region. The official specifications and announcement do not establish a complete comparison of every model’s features here, so check the exact configuration and current listing before choosing.

One distinction is clear: Google’s claim that Pro models reach up to 3,600 nits and have an anti-scratch coating with more than double the previous generation’s scratch resistance applies to the Pro models, not the base Pixel 11. Android Central describes HiLight as a feature on Pro phones; it should not be treated as a base-model feature. If a Pro-only capability matters to you, verify it against the model’s current specifications rather than assuming the base phone includes it.

How long will Google support it?
Google says all Pixel 11 series phones receive seven years of OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates. That is the manufacturer’s support commitment. It is a meaningful consideration if you plan to keep a phone for several years, though it does not establish long-term reliability, repair costs, or how well the phone will suit your needs over that period. Google’s announcement states the update commitment.
Quick Recap
What to check before ordering
- Price and region: The $899 starting price is listed for the US. Check the current local price, storage option, stock, and trade-in terms; offers change.
- Storage: Choose between the listed 256 GB and 512 GB configurations based on what you keep on your phone.
- Charger: Google says the compatible 30W-or-higher USB-C PPS charger is sold separately. Check whether you already own one if wired fast charging matters.
- Model-specific features: Confirm whether a camera, display, or software feature belongs to the base Pixel 11 or a Pro model.
- Upgrade need: If your current phone is satisfactory, weigh the actual price against the improvements you expect to use rather than upgrading on the model number alone.
