Good Shopify blogs give customers something useful before asking them to buy. The strongest documented examples here teach, inspire, or solve a reader’s problem—and connect those ideas to a store’s products without making every post a sales pitch. This is a curated selection, not a ranking: the available sources document five examples in enough detail to explain their editorial approach, rather than supporting a verified list of 21.

How to judge a Shopify blog example

Compare a store blog by what it helps its audience do, how clearly it serves that audience, whether its writing and presentation are easy to follow, and how naturally its articles connect readers with relevant products. These are practical comparison criteria drawn from the examples below, not an official Shopify scoring system.

  • Reader value: Does the content answer a real question or offer usable inspiration?
  • Audience fit: Does it speak to people interested in the store’s category and the needs behind a purchase?
  • Editorial voice and presentation: Is the material readable, coherent, and recognizable as the brand’s own?
  • Product connection: Can a reader move from the article to a relevant product without the content feeling like an ad?

Five Shopify blog examples worth studying

1. Wild Rye Baking: CakeTalk teaches the craft behind the mix

Wild Rye Baking sells artisan cake and pancake mixes. Shopify’s May 14, 2026 guide describes CakeTalk as a source of professional baking tips, recipes, and unexpected ways to use the mixes. That makes the blog a clear example of teaching around the activity a product supports: readers can learn about baking first, while the mixes remain relevant to the advice. Founder Sarah Chisholm described the customer connection this creates: “We get to create a conversation with our customers who say, ‘I made your lemon poppy seed cake from the CakeTalk blog.’” Shopify’s guide to Shopify blogs

2. Polysleep: sleep advice starts with the reader’s wider need

Shopify describes Quebec-based mattress company Polysleep’s blog as covering sleep hygiene, bedroom setup, and lifestyle topics. Rather than pitching mattresses in every article, the content can help readers think about their broader sleep environment. It’s a useful model for merchants whose products are only one part of a customer’s problem: address the surrounding need, and let the product connection arise where it fits. Polysleep cofounder Jeremiah Curvers also warns against publishing for volume alone: “Google will not buy your product. You can pump as much content as you want and have amazing traffic, but if it only dilutes your brand and makes the customer doubt your capacity to write something compelling and interesting, you’re really not helping your brand.” Shopify’s guide to Shopify blogs

3. Weston Table: founder knowledge becomes a publication

Homeware and curated-goods retailer Weston Table brings recipes, entertaining guides, and travel inspiration together with product collections. Founder Dianne O’Connor said the blog began because dinner guests regularly asked how she made the dishes she served. That origin shows how a merchant can turn recurring customer curiosity and personal expertise into editorial material, then place it alongside a wider assortment. O’Connor recalled: “I started out with just a small little blog because people kept asking me when they came for dinner, ‘Oh, how did you make that?’” Shopify’s guide to Shopify blogs

4. Flourist: recipes lead into related products

SiteBuilderReport’s roundup describes Flourist as a Shopify store with a recipe-focused blog, featured products used in recipes, and a sidebar linking to related products and recent articles. This approach makes the path from idea to ingredient visible: a recipe serves the reader, while contextual links help them find items from the catalog. The roundup reports that Flourist was founded by Janna Bishop and Shira McDermott in 2013; its description of the platform and design is the roundup’s report, not an independent current technical audit. 5. Beardbrand: a focused guide to beard care and style

SiteBuilderReport presents Beardbrand’s Urban Beardsman as a hub for beard-growing and styling guidance, with curated recommendations and internal links. Its focused subject gives readers a reason to return for advice related to the store’s category, while recommendations provide a route from learning to products. The roundup also reports a historical peak of more than 800,000 monthly organic visitors based on Semrush data. That is a third-party historical estimate, not a verified measure of current traffic, so it should not be used to compare present-day performance. SiteBuilderReport’s Shopify blog examples

What the examples have in common—and where they differ

Blog Reader interest Editorial approach Product connection
Wild Rye Baking — CakeTalk Baking Tips, recipes, and new uses for mixes Mixes fit naturally into baking guidance
Polysleep Sleep and bedroom setup Broader wellness and lifestyle advice Mattresses are relevant without being the subject of every post
Weston Table Cooking, entertaining, and travel Founder-informed, publication-style inspiration Editorial content sits alongside homeware and curated goods
Flourist Recipes Recipe resource with related articles Featured recipe products and related-product links
Beardbrand — Urban Beardsman Beard growth and styling Focused advice hub with curated recommendations Internal links connect guidance to recommendations

The approaches are not interchangeable. A recipe blog can make ingredients part of the instructions; a sleep-focused retailer can address routines and room setup without turning each post into a mattress pitch; a founder-led homeware shop can blend personal expertise with broader inspiration. The useful question is not which format wins, but which one gives a store’s particular audience a reason to read.

How to start a blog in Shopify

Shopify’s May 14, 2026 guide says merchants can create a blog within a Shopify account. It describes a default blog called “News,” which can be renamed, and the option to add more blogs. The guide’s desktop path is:

  1. In Shopify admin, go to Content > Blog posts.
  2. Select Manage blogs, then choose Add blog.
  3. Give the blog a name that matches its editorial purpose, or rename the default “News” blog.

Shopify interface labels can change, so the path may differ in a later version of the admin. The guide also discusses embedding products in blog posts, which can help connect an article to catalog items when that relationship is useful. Shopify’s setup guide

Choose a content model you can sustain

A blog is more useful when its subject follows naturally from what customers ask, make, or want to learn. Start with recurring questions, product-use ideas, or expertise the business can credibly share. Then choose an editorial form—such as recipes, practical advice, or lifestyle features—that serves those questions and can be maintained at a consistent standard.

Publishing more is not automatically better. Shopify’s guide cautions that a large volume of weak posts can dilute a brand and make readers question the quality of its writing. A smaller body of clear, genuinely useful articles is a stronger foundation than content produced simply to fill a schedule.

Why this is a curated selection, not a top 21 ranking

The headline search phrase may suggest a ranked list of 21, but the sources do not establish a defensible ranking of that size. Shopify’s May 14, 2026 guide names three examples, while SiteBuilderReport’s roundup, updated April 12, 2026, presents 38 Shopify-hosted blogs. The five examples above are the ones documented here in enough detail to discuss their content models; they are not a verified ranking of the best Shopify blogs, nor a complete list of currently active Shopify sites.

The independent roundup is useful for discovering further design ideas, but its listings should not be mistaken for an official Shopify ranking. Likewise, a historical traffic estimate or a reported platform classification is not a substitute for current, comparable measurement of a blog’s results.
