Sharktech Public Cloud is a hosted OpenStack service for creating virtual machines and configuring storage and networking. Its defining trade-off is billing: Public Cloud combines a monthly base allocation with metered charges for additional use, while Sharktech describes Dedicated Cloud as a fixed allocation at a fixed price. The published documentation explains the product and its billing model, but does not establish independent performance results or customer sentiment.
What Sharktech Public Cloud offers
Sharktech describes Public Cloud as an OpenStack-based virtual data center: you draw on a shared pool of compute, memory and storage to create one or more virtual machines. The provider lists Linux and Windows VM creation, NVMe, SSD and HDD storage tiers, private networks, routers, floating IPs, firewalls, load balancers, images and volumes. These are provider-described capabilities, not independently tested findings. Sharktech Public Cloud

Sharktech also describes compatible image uploads, API automation and the option to restrict API access by IP. Its cloud-services page says official Linux images are updated weekly and describes OpenStack APIs for compute, storage, networking and identity. Those statements do not establish a security certification, patching guarantee, uptime commitment or service-level outcome. Sharktech cloud services

How Public Cloud billing compares with Dedicated Cloud
| Billing consideration | Public Cloud | Dedicated Cloud |
|---|---|---|
| How it is billed | Monthly base allocation plus published rates for usage above what is included, according to Sharktech. Source | Described by Sharktech as a fixed allocation at a fixed price, without hourly resource charges or automatic overages. Source |
| Scaling and allocation | Small, Medium and Large plans have resource ceilings; Enterprise has no preset ceiling. Resource ceilings are not monetary spending caps. Source | The purchased allocation can be upgraded. Source |
| Budget trade-off | Offers metered growth beyond the included allocation, so total cost depends on usage and the applicable rates. | Offers a fixed allocation and fixed price as described by the provider; the evidence does not specify how an upgrade changes the price. |
The practical choice is whether you value usage-based flexibility or a defined allocation and bill. Public Cloud’s resource ceilings limit resources under a plan; they do not cap the amount charged. Do not treat a plan ceiling as a spending safeguard.
What does Sharktech Public Cloud cost?
Sharktech’s Public Cloud page displays “$39.00/month base.” That is a base figure, not an all-in estimate for a particular workload. A second official cloud page presents a different pricing and plan view, including rates for CPU, memory, storage, IPv4 and bandwidth. The published pages therefore do not establish one universal total price. Public Cloud page · Cloud services page

Before ordering, confirm the selected location and billing cycle, what resources the base allocation includes, the overage rates that apply, and the final charges shown in the live configurator. Estimate the workload’s likely usage against those rates; the displayed base alone is insufficient for budgeting.
Where can you deploy?
Sharktech lists five Public Cloud locations: Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Denver, Chicago and Amsterdam. The listing establishes the locations named on the provider page, not latency, regional capacity or availability for every specific feature. Check the live configurator for the location and options you need. Sharktech Public Cloud locations

Are there independent reviews or benchmarks?
The available material does not establish independent user sentiment specific to Public Cloud, hands-on testing, workload benchmarks, uptime records or support-response times. Sharktech’s homepage contains provider-published customer testimonials, including praise for support and server or network quality, but those selected comments are not independent evidence about Public Cloud and cannot establish what customers generally experience. Accordingly, this review can assess the published service design—OpenStack compatibility, listed capabilities, locations and billing structure—but cannot verify real-world performance or compare it fairly with providers for which equivalent measurements are available.

Who may find it a fit?
- Consider Public Cloud if you want a provider-described OpenStack environment, need its listed VM and networking capabilities, and can monitor usage beyond the included allocation.
- Consider Dedicated Cloud instead if the fixed allocation and fixed-price structure described by Sharktech better fits your budgeting approach than usage-based overages.
- Verify before committing if your decision depends on a specific price, location, support response, uptime target, security requirement or workload performance: the cited material does not independently establish those outcomes.
