Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Shark robot lights can show a normal operating state or an error, and the same error number can mean different things depending on the light combination and robot model. Start by finding your robot’s model number and matching its complete indicator pattern to that model’s manual. The examples below are specific to the manuals cited; they are not a universal Shark code chart.
First, identify the robot and the full indicator pattern
Find the model number on the robot or its documentation. Then note the light or lights involved, their color, whether they are solid, flashing, or pulsing, and any displayed or spoken code. Compare the complete pattern with the manual for that exact model or series. Do not diagnose from the number alone: the 2400WD Series Shark Matrix manual, for example, assigns several different faults to error 2 depending on which indicators flash.

Indicator layouts differ across Shark robot families and generations. The 2400WD examples below apply to the U.S. 2400WD Series Shark Matrix 2-in-1 Robot guide; they should not be transferred to another model’s chart. See the 2400WD Series Shark Matrix 2-in-1 Robot Owner’s Guide, the UK guide to Shark robot indicator lights and error codes, and the RV2620WDUK Shark Matrix Robot Owner’s Guide for their respective model-specific instructions.

Lights do not necessarily signal a fault. UK Shark robot manuals describe normal states including booting, standby, returning to base, debris evacuation, Wi-Fi connection, and low charge. One set of manuals uses all-white flashing LEDs during booting, all-white solid LEDs in standby, green during return-to-base or debris evacuation, blue pulsing during Wi-Fi connection, and red pulsing when charge is too low to begin a mission. LED positions and patterns vary by model, so treat these as examples rather than a universal key.

- PRECISION HOME MAPPING: 360° LiDAR vision quickly and accurately maps your home so your robot can methodically clean detecting and avoiding objects in its path, day or night, adapting to everyday changes in the home.
- PERFECT FOR HOMES WITH PETS: With powerful vacuum suction, Shark’s self-cleaning brushroll, and HEPA filtration system the robot captures pet hair, dust, dander and allergens with ease.
The RV2620WDUK Matrix manual uses CLEAN, DOCK, and exclamation indicators in its error chart. A different model may use another arrangement or assign a different meaning to a similar-looking light.
2400WD Series Shark Matrix error-code examples
Use this table only if the robot matches the U.S. 2400WD Series guide. Where the manual distinguishes indicator combinations, the combination is part of the diagnosis.

- POWERFUL SUCTION ON CARPET & HARD FLOORS: High suction power pulls up dirt, debris, pet hair, and fine dust from carpets and hard floors, delivering deep, consistent, whole-home cleaning performance.
- SONIC MOPPING FOR STUCK-ON STAINS: Sonic mopping scrubs floors up to 100x per minute to lift tough stains, grime, and dried spills, while intelligently avoiding carpets; use the SharkClean app to set carpet zones for vacuum-only cleaning.
- SELF-EMPTYING & SELF-CLEANING BASE: The NeverTouch base self-empties debris into a 60- day capacity bagless bin, refills water for up to 30 days, and automatically washes and dries the mop after every clean for convenient, hands-free cleaning.
- PERFECT FOR HOMES WITH PETS: Advanced suction and sonic mopping removes pet hair, dirt, and dander, while HEPA filtration with Anti-Allergen Complete Seal helps trap dust and allergens for a fresher home.
- EDGE & CORNER CLEANING WITH EDGE DETECT: Blasts of air pull debris from edges and corners into the cleaning path, ensuring more thorough pickup along walls and tight spaces.
| Code | Meaning in the 2400WD guide | Manual-directed check |
|---|---|---|
| 2 | Depending on which indicators flash: a stuck side brush, stuck drive wheel, wheel motor encoder failure, or brushroll blockage. | Clear debris from the affected brush or wheel. For a wheel motor encoder failure, contact Shark Customer Service. |
| 3 | Suction motor failure. | Empty the dust bin, clean the filters, remove the brushroll and brushroll door, and clear blockages. |
| 6 | The front bumper may be jammed. | Clean the bumper and check that it moves freely. |
| 7 | Cliff sensor error. | Move the robot and clean the sensors. |
| 9 | Dust bin needs to be reinstalled. | Reseat the bin until it clicks. |
| 10 | The robot may be stuck on an obstacle. | Move it to a level surface. |
| 16 | The robot is stuck. | Move it and check that the bumper moves freely. |
| 21 | Booting error. | Turn the robot off and on. |
| 24 | Depending on the indicator combination: critically low battery or a charging error. | Follow the instruction for the displayed combination and use the correct base power cord. |
| 25 | Fluid reservoir is empty. | Refill with water or the specified VACMOP solution before restarting. |
For code 24, the guide also describes low-battery recovery: place the robot correctly on its charging base and check the charging indication. Follow the exact combination-specific guidance in the manual rather than assuming every code 24 pattern means the same thing.
What to do when the robot is stuck or a brush is blocked
- Record the pattern. Note the model number, all active lights, their colors and behavior, and any code shown or spoken.
- Match it to the correct manual. Check the full indicator combination, not just the error number.
- Power down as the manual directs. For an obstruction, inspect the named part and clear visible hair or debris from the brushroll, side brush, wheels, or bumper. Do not force a part that does not move freely.
- Check sensors or the dust bin if indicated. Clean cliff sensors for a listed sensor error. If the manual identifies bin installation, remove and reseat the dust bin until it clicks.
- Resolve a low-charge state at the base. Position the robot correctly on its base and look for the charging indication specified for that model.
- Escalate unresolved faults. Contact Shark support using the regional contact information for the product if the manual identifies a motor or encoder failure, the error persists after the listed checks, or the pattern is not covered by the manual.
Do Shark robot beeps have a universal meaning?
The official manuals cited here explain indicator lights and model-specific error combinations, but they do not establish a general beep-to-code key. A beep alone therefore cannot be assigned a reliable fault meaning across Shark robots. Check the exact model’s manual for sound instructions, if provided, and contact Shark support if the sound accompanies a pattern the manual does not explain.

- PERFECT FOR HOMES WITH PETS: Designed for pet owners, this robot vacuum captures pet hair, dirt, and dander with powerful suction and an anti-hair wrap brushroll for reliable everyday cleaning.
- DETECTS & AVOIDS OBJECTS: No need to pick up before cleaning—advanced sensors detect and navigate around objects and obstacles in its path, adapting to everyday changes so the robot vacuum can clean without interruption.
When to clear a blockage and when to replace a part
A brush or wheel error may be caused by removable hair or debris, so inspect and clean the part before treating the alert as evidence of component failure. If inspection shows a brushroll, filter, side brush, or other component is worn or damaged, use the model number to confirm that a replacement part is compatible with your robot. The Matrix manuals list replacement parts, but compatibility varies by model; they do not establish that one part fits every Shark robot.
