On a Samsung Galaxy, you can share access to the Wi-Fi network you’re currently using by showing its QR code. The other person scans it to connect without typing the password. Samsung’s documented steps do not establish that the QR screen reveals the password as readable text.
Share your connected Wi-Fi network from a Galaxy
- Open Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi.
- Tap the settings icon next to the network your Galaxy is connected to.
- Tap QR code.
- Ask the other person to scan the displayed code with their device to join the network.
This is Samsung’s documented sharing method, and the Galaxy must already be connected to the network. Samsung Support’s QR-sharing instructions were last updated August 1, 2022.

Does the QR code show the Wi-Fi password?
Samsung’s instructions confirm that the code lets another device join without manually entering the password. They do not confirm that the screen displays the underlying password in readable text, so do not rely on this method to reveal or copy the password itself.
If you need the literal password, check the router’s label or its administration interface as general alternatives. Those are not steps for viewing a password on the Samsung phone, and the exact process depends on the router.

What if the network is saved but you are not connected?
The Samsung instructions cover sharing the network the phone is currently connected to. They do not establish that the QR-sharing flow works for a saved network while disconnected. If you can connect to that network, use the steps above; otherwise, the cited Samsung guidance does not provide a phone-based way to share it.
Why your Galaxy menus may look different
Samsung’s published path uses the labels Connections and QR code. Menu names or feature availability can vary by Galaxy model, software version, and region. Samsung’s August 1, 2022 support page does not provide a current compatibility table, so it does not establish that every Galaxy device has the same options.

How the general Android route differs
Google documents a separate Android path: Settings > Network & internet > Internet, select the Wi-Fi network, then tap Share to display a QR code. Some steps in Google’s Android Wi-Fi instructions apply only to Android 12 and later. Samsung’s published Galaxy labels are different; use the route that matches your device’s settings rather than expecting Google’s menu names on a Galaxy.
