Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Serpstat is a paid, web-based SEO and search-analytics platform that combines keyword research, competitor and domain analysis, rank tracking, technical audits, backlink analysis, reporting and an API. Its main appeal is breadth in one subscription. Whether it is a good buy depends on your country and language coverage, project count, tracking volume, reporting needs and how deeply you need backlink or keyword data. The pricing and quota figures below come from a pricing-page listing crawled about six months before this review, so confirm the live terms before purchasing.
What is Serpstat?
Serpstat is subscription software accessed through a web browser. The vendor documents tools for researching search terms, examining domains and competitors, monitoring rankings, auditing websites, analyzing backlinks and producing reports. It also advertises an API, browser extension and newer AI/MCP-related workflows.
Those descriptions establish the available product categories, not independent proof of database size, accuracy, speed or usability. This review therefore evaluates the documented scope and buying considerations rather than claiming hands-on test results.
Serpstat features
Keyword and competitor research
Keyword research and site/domain analysis are intended for investigating search terms, competing domains and potential content opportunities. Before relying on the results for a major campaign, check whether the tool covers your target country, language, device and search type, and compare important terms with your own Search Console or analytics data.
#1 Best Overall
Rank tracking
Rank Tracker is a core feature for monitoring keyword positions. Serpstat’s educational material describes it as a way to obtain fresher position data and gives an example in which a scheduled project scan might otherwise occur monthly. That example should not be treated as a universal refresh schedule: verify the cadence, keyword allowances and search-engine settings for your plan.
Technical site audit
The site-audit tool crawls pages for technical issues, with crawl limits varying by subscription. Audit results are also listed among the data available through the API. Confirm the maximum pages, crawl frequency, historical storage and issue-export options before choosing a plan for a large site.
Rank #2
Backlink analysis
Serpstat lists backlink analysis as a core capability. TechRadar’s 2025 roundup describes domain and subdomain profile overviews, new and lost links, and link attributes, while noting that specialist backlink platforms may go deeper. That is editorial context rather than a controlled index comparison, so test a sample of known links if backlink discovery is central to your work.
API, browser extension and AI workflows
The documented API uses JSON-RPC 2.0 and can provide domain metrics, keyword rankings, backlink profiles and audit results. API access and quotas depend on current plan terms. The browser extension is described as showing SEO parameters, meta tags, technical errors, traffic, keyword visibility and backlink metrics while you browse, including page-level keyword-gap clues. Serpstat’s help materials also list MCP and AI-related tools; confirm supported workflows and plan gates before building an automation around them.

Serpstat pricing and plan limits
The following figures are a snapshot from the official pricing-page listing, not a guarantee of today’s checkout price. The page advertised annual-billing savings and free-trial calls to action. Check whether displayed rates require annual payment, whether taxes are added, trial eligibility, cancellation terms and the live comparison table.
| Plan | Listed monthly price | Selected listed limits and positioning |
|---|---|---|
| Individual | $50/month | For freelancers and beginners; five projects, 100 daily searches, 10,000 Top-100 position checks, 30,000 pages to audit and 50,000 export rows. |
| Team | $100/month | For agencies and growing teams; unlimited projects, 500 daily searches, 50,000 position checks, 150,000 audit pages and 250,000 export rows. |
| Team x2 | $169/month | Higher limits and team capacity than Team; exact quotas and included features should be checked in the live table. |
| Agency | $410/month | Highest listed tier, with further limits and collaboration/reporting capabilities; verify seats, API, share access, scheduled reports and white-label reporting in the current terms. |
Because the listing is a time-sensitive search result, treat every price and quota as provisional. A low headline price can become unsuitable if you exceed daily searches, tracked positions, crawl pages, exports or seats.

Which Serpstat plan should you choose?
Choose Individual when
- You manage a small number of sites and can stay within five projects.
- Your daily research, tracked positions, audit pages and exports fit the listed quotas.
- You do not need higher-tier collaboration, API or white-label reporting features.
Choose Team when
- You need unlimited projects under the listed snapshot terms.
- Several people share research or reporting work.
- Your tracking, crawling and export volume is materially above Individual’s allowances.
Consider Team x2 or Agency when
- You require more seats, larger quotas or advanced reporting workflows.
- API usage, scheduled reports, share access or white-label deliverables are operational requirements.
- You have calculated the annual cost against actual usage rather than selecting by the plan name alone.
Before subscribing, estimate projects, daily queries, tracked keyword positions, pages crawled, export rows, seats, API calls and reporting frequency. Compare those numbers with the live limits and the total billing commitment.

The available evidence does not establish that Serpstat beats Ahrefs, Semrush or another platform on database size, ranking accuracy, backlink depth, audit quality, speed, support or value. A fair comparison must use the same country, device, language, domains and keywords, then examine:
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:

- Keyword and location coverage for your actual markets.
- Agreement with known rankings and first-party Search Console data.
- Backlink discovery, filtering and the proportion of known links found.
- Technical-audit findings and crawl limits on the same site.
- Refresh cadence and historical data.
- Included projects, searches, positions, pages, exports and seats.
- API, integrations, scheduling and reporting access.
- Total cost for the workload you will really run.
Serpstat’s defensible differentiator is a broad feature set in one subscription. That may suit a solo practitioner or small team that prefers one interface, but buyers who depend on specialist backlink intelligence or highly specific data coverage should validate those areas directly.
Strengths and limitations
Strengths
- One platform covers several common SEO workflows.
- Plans scale from an individual-oriented tier to agency-focused options.
- Documented API access can support domain, keyword, backlink and audit data workflows.
- Browser and AI/MCP-related tools may reduce context switching for some users.
Limitations and cautions
- Pricing, quotas, trial terms and feature gates can change; the cited listing was not freshly crawled for this publication.
- Official feature pages describe capabilities but do not independently verify accuracy or completeness.
- Backlink depth, keyword coverage and refresh behavior should be tested for your markets.
- Higher-volume tracking, crawling, exporting, collaboration or API work may require a much more expensive tier.
Verdict: is Serpstat worth it?
Serpstat is worth considering when you want a single subscription for keyword research, domain analysis, rank monitoring, audits, backlinks and reporting, and your workload fits its quotas. It is not possible to call it the best alternative to Ahrefs or Semrush from the available evidence. Make the decision with a small matched trial: run your priority keywords and domains, audit a representative site, inspect known backlinks, test reporting or API needs, and calculate the resulting plan cost. Recheck the live pricing page immediately before payment because both prices and entitlements are volatile.
