सबसे पहले ChromeDriver की mobile emulation जाँचें। केवल ब्राउज़र विंडो को छोटा करने से फोन जैसा व्यवहार सुनिश्चित नहीं होता: Selenium सत्र शुरू करते समय device metrics और ज़रूरत के अनुसार mobile तथा touch व्यवहार सेट करें। फिर CSS viewport, स्क्रीनशॉट का दायरा और DevTools में सक्रिय responsive breakpoint मिलाएँ। अगर emulation के बाद भी परिणाम वास्तविक फोन से अलग हो, तो असली डिवाइस पर जाँचें। यह समस्या भारतीय वेबसाइटों तक सीमित होने का कोई स्थापित प्रमाण नहीं है।
पहले पता करें कि Selenium में क्या गलत दिख रहा है
मोबाइल लेआउट का अंतर अक्सर इन अलग-अलग बातों में से किसी एक से जुड़ा होता है: CSS viewport का आकार, device pixel ratio, mobile या touch व्यवहार, portrait/landscape स्थिति, अथवा screenshot में शामिल हिस्सा। तुलना करते समय एक ही समय में इन सभी को बदलने के बजाय पहले दोनों screenshots की सेटिंग समान करें। ChromeDriver के mobile-emulation विकल्प device metrics और mobile व्यवहार कॉन्फ़िगर करते हैं; केवल desktop window का आकार बदलना उसी चीज़ के बराबर नहीं है। ChromeDriver mobile emulation documentation
सत्र शुरू होने से पहले mobile emulation सेट करें
ChromeDriver के लिए Selenium का Chrome options API named device preset और custom dimensions के उदाहरण देता है। नीचे JavaScript (Node.js) उदाहरण custom metrics का है। यह सत्र बनाते समय emulation सेट करता है; अपने Selenium, Chrome और ChromeDriver संस्करणों में उपलब्ध API तथा preset नाम की पुष्टि करें, क्योंकि समर्थन संस्करण के अनुसार बदल सकता है।

}यहाँ width और height CSS/device metrics के रूप में चुने गए हैं; 390 × 844 और pixel ratio 3 केवल उदाहरण हैं, किसी सार्वभौमिक फोन का मान नहीं। जिस डिवाइस या breakpoint की जाँच करनी है, उसी के अनुरूप मान रखें। Named preset चुनने पर भी वही जाँचें कि अपेक्षित viewport और व्यवहार लागू हुए हैं।

Viewport और responsive breakpoint की तुलना करें
CSS media queries viewport के आधार पर layout बदलती हैं। इसलिए Selenium screenshot और DevTools निरीक्षण में एक ही CSS viewport width और height रखें। Chrome DevTools में Device Mode खोलकर responsive आकार सेट करें, breakpoint दिखाएँ और देखें कि किस breakpoint पर layout बदलता है। DevTools की device emulation उपयोगी निदान है, लेकिन इसे वास्तविक फोन का पूर्ण प्रतिस्थापन न मानें। Chrome इसे मोबाइल अनुभव का “first-order approximation” कहता है; Chrome DevTools Device Mode मार्गदर्शिका।

- CSS viewport width और height समान रखें।
- Device pixel ratio और mobile/desktop rendering mode जाँचें।
- Touch व्यवहार तथा portrait या landscape स्थिति, जहाँ प्रासंगिक हो, समान रखें।
- एक setting बदलकर दोबारा capture करें; इससे पता चलेगा कि बदलाव से layout सुधरा या नहीं।
दोनों screenshots में समान capture scope रखें
एक viewport screenshot और पूरा पेज दिखाने वाला screenshot एक जैसे नहीं होते। Selenium का screenshot वर्तमान browsing context को capture करता है; DevTools viewport और full-size page capture के विकल्प अलग दिखाता है। पहले तय करें कि तुलना केवल दिखाई दे रहे viewport की है या पूरी लंबाई वाले पेज की, फिर दोनों तरफ वही scope चुनें। Selenium window sizing और screenshot व्यवहार के लिए Selenium: Working with windows and tabs देखें; DevTools capture विकल्पों के लिए Device Mode देखें।
समस्या अलग-अलग करके जाँचें
- ब्राउज़र सत्र पहचानें: Chrome और ChromeDriver के संस्करण दर्ज करें और पुष्टि करें कि mobile-emulation options उसी Chrome session को दिए गए हैं जिसे Selenium चला रहा है। संस्करण-संगतता के लिए मौजूदा Selenium तथा ChromeDriver दस्तावेज़ देखें।
- Emulation को startup पर सेट करें: session बनाते समय preset या explicit width, height और pixel ratio चुनें। ज़रूरत के अनुसार mobile और touch व्यवहार भी जाँचें।
- Viewport मिलाएँ: DevTools में वही dimensions रखें और सक्रिय media-query breakpoint देखें।
- Capture scope मिलाएँ: viewport-only की तुलना viewport-only से, या full-page की full-page से करें।
- एक बार में एक मान बदलें: dimensions, mobile mode या touch behavior में से एक बदलकर नया screenshot लें।
- वास्तविक फोन पर पुष्टि करें: यदि emulation और असली उपयोगकर्ता का परिणाम अलग है, तो hardware पर जाँचें। मौजूदा Android फोन पर्याप्त हो सकता है; नया फोन खरीदना आवश्यक नहीं।
आम गड़बड़ियाँ और उनके समाधान
- विंडो छोटी है, फिर भी desktop layout दिखता है: window size बदलने को mobile emulation न समझें। Session startup options में device metrics और mobile व्यवहार सेट करें।
- गलत breakpoint सक्रिय है: DevTools में viewport width जाँचें और breakpoint निरीक्षण चालू करें। Screenshot लेते समय वही CSS viewport रखें।
- ऊँचाई या पेज कटने का अंतर: viewport capture और full-page capture का अंतर जाँचें; तुलना में दोनों का scope एक जैसा रखें।
- Touch interactions अलग हैं: mobile emulation configuration में touch behavior की जाँच करें। केवल dimensions समान होना पर्याप्त नहीं हो सकता।
- कोड में preset या option काम नहीं करता: अपनी Selenium binding और Chrome/ChromeDriver संस्करण के API दस्तावेज़ में विकल्प का नाम और समर्थन जाँचें। उपलब्ध preset और API shape संस्करण के साथ बदल सकते हैं।
