“Selenium 103” refers here to Selenium 4.3.0’s historical support for Chrome DevTools Protocol (CDP) version 103—not a current Selenium release. Selenium 4.3.0 was released on June 23, 2022. Its changes included removed deprecated Python locator methods, Java updates for CDP and BiDi, and other API cleanups. CDP 103 support was later removed in Selenium 4.5.0, so it should not be treated as a promise of compatibility with current Chrome versions.
What does “Selenium 103” mean?
It is shorthand for Selenium 4.3.0’s support for CDP version 103. CDP, the Chrome DevTools Protocol, is distinct from WebDriver: Selenium can use CDP integrations for browser-specific DevTools features, and the supported CDP versions change as Selenium and Chrome evolve. Selenium 4.3.0’s Java changelog lists CDP 103 alongside versions 85, 101, and 102. That is a historical compatibility note, not evidence that every Selenium language binding or current browser supports CDP 103.

What changed in Selenium 4.3.0?
Java and shared release notes
The Java changelog records support for CDP versions 85, 101, 102, and 103. It also lists these changes:
#1 Best Overall
- Removal of deprecated capability-based WebDriver methods and deprecated Actions commands.
- Removal of deprecated
getPlatformandgetVersionmethods. - Removal of non-W3C browser-matching paths.
- Addition of BiDi log event support and a BiDi augmenter.
- Native ARM socket support.
- Support for adding Firefox profile preferences when retrieving a profile from a file.
BiDi (WebDriver BiDi) is a separate browser automation protocol direction from CDP. The listed additions should be read as specific changes in the 4.3.0 notes, not as a blanket statement about browser coverage. See the Selenium Java changelog.
Python binding changes
The most consequential migration change for Python users was removal of the deprecated find_element_by_* and find_elements_by_* methods. The Python changes also removed deprecated Opera support, completed an upgrade to Python 3.7 syntax and features, added a DevTools version fallback for mismatches, and improved cooperative multiple inheritance and type hints. These are Python-binding details; they should not be assumed to describe every other Selenium language binding. The changes are recorded in the Python change record for the 4.3.0 tag.

Why was find_element_by_* removed?
Those convenience locator methods had been deprecated before their removal in Selenium 4.3.0. Code still calling them will fail once it runs against this release. Update the locator calls to the supported locator approach documented for the Selenium Python version you install, and check the rest of the codebase for both singular and plural forms. The change record establishes that the old methods were removed; it does not specify one universal replacement snippet for every project.

Does Selenium support CDP 103 now?
Not on the basis of Selenium 4.3.0’s release notes. Selenium’s September 28, 2022 Selenium 4.5.0 announcement says CDP support for Chrome versions 105 and 106 was added while support for 102 and 103 was removed. Check the compatibility details for the Selenium version and binding you actually use; do not infer present-day support from the 4.3.0 changelog.

Installing Selenium 4.3.0 and understanding its downloads
The PyPI release page provides the Selenium 4.3.0 Python package and lists its downloadable wheel. Selenium Server is a separate Java JAR used for Remote WebDriver or legacy Selenium API use cases. A typical non-remote WebDriver script does not need the Selenium Server JAR. The PyPI package entry identifies the files and release metadata; consult it before selecting an artifact.
For Python installation, the package can be requested with python -m pip install selenium==4.3.0. This pins the historical version; it does not make that version the right choice for a new project. For current work, choose a supported version compatible with your browser and dependencies.

If your goal is to capture website screenshots rather than automate browser interactions, ScreenshotNeo provides a one-request screenshot API. It accepts a URL and returns PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF. For example, this cURL request saves a WebP shot of Stripe:
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for authentication and options. Cookie banners are accepted or removed before capture, along with supported newsletter popups and chat widgets; each cleanup step can be turned off. Bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, and response headers report the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server lets AI agents use screenshot and PDF tools. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Sign up for the free plan.

Does every Selenium binding have the same 4.3.0 changes?
No. The release details summarized here specifically substantiate Java changelog items and Python binding changes; they should not be generalized across all language bindings.
