Google Photos does not document a universal one-click command to select every photo in your library. On a computer, you can select a continuous range with Shift-click; on Android, iPhone, or iPad, touch and hold a photo, then drag across a run or tap individual photos. These methods work in Photos view, Search, and albums.
How to select a range of photos on a computer
- Open Google Photos and go to Photos, Search, or an album.
- Hover over the first photo you want and click its Select control.
- Hold Shift and click the last photo in the range.
Google’s computer help guidance describes this as selecting the range between the first and last items. It does not describe Shift-click as a way to select every item in the library at once.

How to select multiple photos on Android
- Open the Google Photos app and go to Photos, Search, or an album.
- Touch and hold the first photo to begin selecting.
- For a continuous group, keep your finger down and drag through the last photo you want.
- For separate photos, tap each additional photo.
How to select multiple photos on iPhone or iPad
- Open Google Photos and go to Photos, Search, or an album.
- Touch and hold the first photo.
- Drag across a continuous group, or tap separate photos to add them to the selection.
Google’s iPhone and iPad help guidance describes the same general touch-selection pattern as its Android guidance.

Can you select all photos in Google Photos at once?
The official Google help guidance describes range selection on a computer and touch-based multi-selection on mobile, but does not document a universal Select All command for an entire library. A computer range selection covers the items between its endpoints; it should not be treated as a one-action whole-library selection.

Check photo-stack scope before a bulk action
Stacks can affect what a selection includes. For some actions, Google Photos may ask whether to apply the action only to selected items or to include the stack. Read that prompt and confirm the intended scope rather than assuming a selected stack tile always means one photo—or every photo in the stack.
Verify the selection before deleting
Before confirming a bulk deletion, review the selected items and any stack-scope prompt. Google says permanently deleted content cannot be recovered with Google Takeout, so do not confirm until the selection and action scope are correct.
