Security teams do not need to take “12 dashboards” literally to recognize the problem: attack evidence is often split across endpoint, identity, cloud, vulnerability and asset tools. The useful response is to connect those signals around the paths an intruder could take, then validate and prioritize the paths—not simply add another dashboard.
What the speed figures actually measure
Recent vendor findings underline why fragmented visibility matters, but their numbers describe different events and populations. They are not a universal clock for every intrusion.

- Unit 42: Palo Alto Networks says its fastest investigated cases reached confirmed data exfiltration in 72 minutes from initial access, roughly four times faster year over year. It also reports that identity-based techniques drove 65% of initial access in its analysis. These are findings from Unit 42’s investigated cases, not estimates for all organizations or incidents. Palo Alto Networks Unit 42
- CrowdStrike: Its 2026 reporting gives an average eCrime breakout time of 29 minutes in 2025, 65% faster than 2024; its fastest observed breakout was 27 seconds. CrowdStrike defines breakout time as the interval from initial access to lateral movement onto another system. Those observations are not the same measure as Unit 42’s time to confirmed exfiltration. CrowdStrike, 24 February 2026
The practical implication is not that every team has exactly 29 minutes to respond. It is that defenders should be able to connect signals quickly enough to understand whether an identity, endpoint or cloud finding creates a path to another system or sensitive data.
Why “12 dashboards” is a useful metaphor, not a statistic
The phrase is a rhetorical contrast, not a measured industry-wide dashboard count. The promoted article names six tool categories—scanner, EDR, CSPM, IAM, SIEM and GRC—while using “12” in its title. Actual tool counts vary, and the available evidence does not establish a typical organization’s number of dashboards.

The underlying challenge is real even when the number is figurative: a vulnerability scanner may show an exposed weakness, identity tools may show who can reach a system, and endpoint or cloud products may record activity on it. If those facts remain isolated, analysts have to reconstruct the relationship by hand. An inventory of findings is not yet an explanation of how an attacker could move.
Build the view around attack paths
A more useful operating model links assets, identities, credentials and exposure data. The goal is to determine whether separate findings combine into a plausible route to a valuable system, and to give analysts evidence they can inspect.

- HARDWARE PLUS SECURITY SERVICES: FortiGate-60F Firewall Appliance bundled with 1 year of FortiCare Premium and FortiGuard Unified Threat Protection.
- UNIFIED THREAT PROTECTION (UTP): Secures against advanced online threats with comprehensive web filtering and anti-botnet technologies.
- OPTIMIZED FOR MEDIUM-SIZED BUSINESSES: Tailored for businesses needing robust security without the infrastructure of larger enterprises.
- RELIABLE CUSTOMER SUPPORT: FortiCare Premium ensures high-quality support and service continuity.
- EFFECTIVE PROTECTION: Employs advanced filtering technologies to safeguard against sophisticated threats.
- Establish what exists. Maintain a usable inventory of endpoints, cloud resources, applications and sensitive systems. Record ownership and business importance so that findings can be interpreted in context.
- Connect identity to infrastructure. Map accounts, privileges, credentials and access relationships to the systems they can reach. Unit 42’s reported identity share is a reason to examine identity telemetry alongside vulnerability data, not to assume that every identity-driven entry has the same cause.
- Join exposure and activity. Relate vulnerability and configuration findings to reachable assets, then check endpoint, identity and cloud signals for evidence of access or movement. A serious finding on an isolated asset may present a different immediate path than a moderate weakness on a broadly accessible system.
- Validate the path. Test whether the proposed sequence is technically possible and supported by evidence. Distinguish a confirmed relationship from an inferred one, and keep enough detail for an analyst to verify why the path was flagged.
- Prioritize work against capacity. Rank paths by business impact, reachability and confidence, then decide what the team can remediate or investigate. This is more actionable than treating every alert or vulnerability as equally urgent.
- Repeat as the environment changes. New assets, changed permissions, fresh vulnerabilities and altered configurations can create or close paths. Continuous assessment can surface those changes between periodic reviews, provided the underlying data stays current.
How to evaluate a cross-tool approach
Whether a team uses existing products, a new platform or a service, evaluate the workflow rather than accepting a claim that a tool “unifies” security. Ask vendors to demonstrate how their system handles the following:
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Data coverage: Can it connect endpoint, identity, cloud, vulnerability and asset information relevant to your environment? Which integrations are native, which require custom work, and how fresh is each data source?
- Path validation: Does it show a plausible, inspectable relationship between findings, or merely place alerts in one interface? Can analysts see the evidence and distinguish observed facts from inferred links?
- Prioritization: Can the team set priorities around business-critical assets and realistic remediation capacity? Can it explain why one path ranks above another?
- Assessment cadence: Does it reassess continuously or on a schedule? How quickly do new assets and permission changes appear in the model?
- Response governance: What actions can be automated, who approves them, and how can analysts inspect, stop or reverse an action? Consolidated visibility should not mean opaque or irreversible response.
- Integration and operating cost: What engineering time, data maintenance and analyst training are required? Will the approach reduce duplicative work, or add a further source that the team must maintain?
Ask for a demonstration using representative data and a clearly defined scenario. Track whether analysts can trace the evidence, identify a defensible priority and determine the next action. A polished dashboard alone does not establish that those jobs become easier.

Keep vendor claims in their proper context
The article behind the “one AI versus 12 dashboards” framing was published by TechCentral on 5 October 2026 as paid promotional content. It names Solid8 Technologies, identifies Uri Levy as RedRok CEO and active chairman, and promotes RedRok’s approach. Its product descriptions and performance claims should therefore be treated as sponsor claims, not independent findings. TechCentral’s promoted article
Quick Recap
In particular, the sponsored article’s claims about offensive frameworks, three remediations breaking nine of eleven chains in a typical estate, and RedRok’s workflow are not independently established by the cited material here. They should not be used as proof of effectiveness without separate, verifiable evidence. The vendor example is a prompt for evaluation, not an independently assessed winner.
