CHOICE’s zero stability score and description of slow settling make movement disturbance the clearest reported weakness. If a partner’s turning or getting in and out of bed tends to wake you, give this issue more weight than the choice of comfort label. The public summary does not provide a detailed motion-transfer measurement, so it cannot tell you exactly how much movement you will feel.

Try the mattress with your usual sleep partner if possible. Lie still while the other person changes position, and compare the sensation with other mattresses you are considering. A shop-floor tryout cannot reproduce a full night’s sleep, but it can help you judge whether the feel is immediately distracting.
What is inside the tested double?
CHOICE identifies its tested double as a traditional spring mattress with a Bonnell spring core. Its published specifications apply to that tested double, not automatically to other sizes or comfort variants.

For a separate size reference, Forty Winks lists its single Medium variant at 915 × 1900 × 300 mm and 24 kg. That is a retailer-listed single, not the CHOICE-tested double, so the two sets of dimensions and weights should not be mixed.

Forty Winks lists Plush, Medium, Firm, and Ultra Firm choices, along with multiple sizes and adjustable-base compatibility. Its listing describes Medium as an option for people who want some conformance but find Plush too soft. That is the retailer’s guidance, not an independently established comfort recommendation; comfort depends on the individual, so try the available feel before choosing when you can.

The retailer’s Alpine page describes AlignSupport, FlexiCased edge support, Sense Material ComfortCore, SmarTex, Healthshield, New-Life fabric, and Sealy comfort layers. These are seller or manufacturer descriptions, not independent performance findings. Sealy Australia’s broader Acclaim page discusses range technologies, including AlignSupport, a centre-third ComfortCore layer with SenseMaterial, moisture-management SmarTex fabric, and FlexiCased edge support. Range-level descriptions do not by themselves confirm the exact Alpine construction.
Sealy’s March 2025 brochure discusses ReactSupport and SenseGel in Acclaim Ultra models. Those Ultra-specific features should not be assumed to be part of the Alpine.

Is the Acclaim Alpine a good choice for couples?
It is a less obvious choice for couples who are sensitive to movement because CHOICE’s stability result is a notable warning. The public evidence does not establish that every sleeper will notice the same effect, nor does it provide a detailed measurement of motion transfer. If both partners sleep through movement, the concern may matter less; if one wakes easily, prioritize a side-by-side comparison with mattresses that settle more quickly in your own test.

Forty Winks states a 10-year warranty and advises rotating the mattress rather than flipping it. Its care guidance says to rotate it 180 degrees every two weeks for the first three months, then every three months. Confirm the warranty document and care instructions supplied with the specific model you purchase. The reviewed pages do not establish a universal trial, exchange, or return entitlement for this mattress, so ask the seller for its current terms in writing, including delivery and any fees or conditions.
