ScreenshotOne offers a default full-page mode and a section-based algorithm; Urlbox defaults to scrolling, capturing, and stitching page sections, with a browser-native option as an alternative. Neither option is established as universally better: test both against the pages, content, and output constraints that matter to you.
How their full-page capture methods differ
ScreenshotOne: default capture or sections
ScreenshotOne’s full-page guide describes its default approach as asking the browser to render the whole page. The documentation says this usually works, though it can rarely cause rendering issues. You can try its by_sections algorithm if the default does not produce the result you need. Setting full_page=true automatically enables full_page_scroll=true unless you override it; the scroll is intended to help request and render lazy-loaded images. See the full-page guide and options reference.

Urlbox: stitched sections or native capture
Urlbox documents full_page=true for full-page output. Its default stitch mode scrolls the page to trigger animations and lazy-loaded elements, freezes fixed and sticky elements, captures multiple sections, and stitches them together. Urlbox describes this mode as optimized for accuracy. Its native mode uses the browser’s native full-page screenshot functionality; Urlbox describes it as faster, but says it is not suitable for every website. These are vendor descriptions, not results of an independent comparison. Urlbox also documents full_width=true for pages that scroll horizontally. Details are in its full-page screenshots documentation and render options.

A full-page setting does not guarantee that every part of a long page will look as it does after a visitor has scrolled through it. Images or other elements may load only when they approach the viewport; sticky navigation can overlap or repeat in a capture; animations may be at different points when the screenshot is taken.
- Lazy-loaded content: ScreenshotOne’s automatic full-page scrolling and Urlbox’s scrolling stitch mode are both documented as ways to trigger content as the page is traversed. Check that images near the bottom actually appear in your output.
- Sticky and fixed UI: Urlbox says stitch mode freezes fixed and sticky elements while capturing sections. ScreenshotOne’s guide suggests adjusting capture settings when output needs improvement, but the cited material does not establish equivalent sticky-element handling.
- Animation: Urlbox says stitch mode scrolls to trigger animations. ScreenshotOne’s guide recommends reducing animations when they interfere with capture. The best setting depends on whether your goal is a stable page image or a particular animated state.
- Waits and scrolling: ScreenshotOne recommends tuning scrolling and waiting longer when needed. These extra steps can improve rendering but may reduce performance, according to its guide. Urlbox’s cited full-page description does not establish a comparable delay control or a particular wait value, so check its current options documentation for the controls available to your integration.
Output constraints and very tall pages
Urlbox documents maximum image dimensions for JPEG and WebP and recommends PNG for full-page captures without those stated format limits. If you need JPEG or WebP, verify that the rendered page dimensions fit the limits in the current Urlbox documentation; a long page can exceed an image dimension even when the capture request succeeds. The materials cited here do not state a corresponding ScreenshotOne dimension limit, so do not assume either that it has the same limits or that it has none. For especially tall pages, test the actual output format and downstream viewer or storage constraints.

How to choose for your pages
- Define what a correct capture means. Pick representative URLs and note required output format, full-page or full-width behavior, lazy-loaded images, sticky navigation, animations, and approximate page height.
- Try the documented modes. For ScreenshotOne, compare its default full-page method with
by_sectionswhere appropriate. For Urlbox, comparestitchwithnativeon the same pages. - Inspect the whole result. Check top, middle, and bottom sections for missing images, seams, repeated or misplaced UI, clipped content, and format or dimension problems.
- Measure your actual workload. Compare the plan limits and request rates you need, then confirm current prices, overage terms, and feature availability on the official pricing pages.
- Include time and reliability in the decision. Extra scrolling and waiting may improve output but can take longer. The published descriptions do not establish a head-to-head speed or quality winner, so judge against your own URLs and acceptable latency.
ScreenshotNeo as an alternative to try first
If you would rather avoid tuning capture behavior around cookie banners and other overlays, try ScreenshotNeo first: it removes known consent banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture, and only clean shots are billed. Its response headers identify the page verdict and billing status; bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing. It also offers an MCP server for AI agents and plans with 1,000 free shots per month without a card. Here is a one-request example; see the API documentation for options and setup.
