To capture content below the fold, enable the screenshot API’s full-page option. If the page loads images or other content only after scrolling, also use a pre-capture scroll option when available, then wait for a page-specific readiness signal such as a selector or navigation condition. Full-page capture extends the image beyond the initial viewport; it does not guarantee that every dynamic element has loaded.
How full-page capture and scrolling work
A viewport screenshot records only what is visible in the selected viewport. A full-page screenshot captures the document beyond that initial view. These are separate from scrolling the page before capture: some sites load images or other elements only when those areas approach the viewport, so a service may need to scroll first to trigger them.

For example, Cloudflare’s Browser Run guide says its /screenshot endpoint renders a webpage by processing its HTML and JavaScript before capture. Its API reference separately documents full-page and beyond-viewport screenshot options. ScreenshotAPI.com documents a doScroll option for scrolling before capture to trigger lazy-loaded content. These are vendor-specific controls, not interchangeable parameter names.
Configure a capture that includes below-the-fold content
- Choose the rendering viewport. Set the width and height for the intended desktop or mobile layout. A page rendered at a mobile width may have a different layout and different scroll length than the same page at desktop width. Device scale affects raster resolution; it does not change the responsive layout selected by the viewport.
- Enable full-page capture. The cited APIs use a full-page option, but its request location and exact spelling differ: Cloudflare documents
screenshotOptions.fullPage; Screenshot API and ScreenshotAPI.com documentfullPage. - Set a readiness rule. Use a navigation wait condition such as
loador a network-idle condition when appropriate. If a specific element indicates that the content you need has appeared, wait for that selector. A fixed delay can help with known late-rendering UI, but no single delay suits every site. - Scroll before capture if the page needs it. Use the service’s documented scroll behavior when lazy-loaded content is triggered by scrolling. ScreenshotAPI.com calls this option
doScroll. Do not assume another service supports the same option. - Inspect the result. Check that the capture includes the expected lower sections, has no truncation or unwanted overlays, and uses the intended responsive layout. The available controls do not establish that every page will render correctly under every configuration.

Parameter names and request formats are specific to each service. Consult the chosen provider’s current reference before copying an option into a request.

When a full-page screenshot still misses content
- Lazy-loaded images or sections are missing: enable the provider’s scroll-before-capture behavior if it offers one. Full-page capture by itself may not trigger site code that waits for an element to enter the viewport.
- A late-rendering component is absent: wait for a selector that identifies the component, or use a suitable navigation condition or delay. A generic fixed delay can be too short on a slow page and unnecessarily long on a fast one.
- The page has the wrong layout: adjust viewport width and height. Increasing device scale is not a substitute for selecting the right responsive viewport.
- The bottom is cut off or the image looks unexpected: inspect the output and try the provider’s documented full-page or beyond-viewport settings. The cited references describe options, not guaranteed results for every page.
- The target uses unusual page behavior: authenticated pages, nested scroll containers, site-specific lazy loading, and overlays can require page-specific handling. The cited documentation does not establish universal behavior for these cases, so verify the result against the actual target.

Full-page capture can produce a much taller image than viewport capture, and waiting for extra page activity adds time to a request. Choose the smallest viewport and the most specific readiness rule that meet the job. A selector wait can avoid guessing a delay when the page has a reliable readiness element; scrolling is useful when the target page loads content in response to it.

Do not treat a successful API response as proof that every below-the-fold element is present. Compare the result with the target page, especially when captures feed a report, archive, or other automated workflow.
